Uli community in Ihiala local government of Anambra state over the weekend celebrated its 2018 new yam Festival with pomp. The new yam Festival which was one of its kind, was celebrated to mark the end of farming, and the start of harvest season. Delivering his speech from the throne, the traditional ruler of Uli community HRH, Igwe Damian Onyekaonwu(Ezeudoka II)thanked Uli indigenes home and abroad for coming out in their numbers to witness the new yam Festival. He prayed that God who made it possible for them to witness the 2018 new yam festival will also grant them the needed health and strength to go into work after harvest. He thanked all those that ensured that the new yam Festival was celebrated without hitch, and prayed God to replenish them hundred fold. Anambra NUJ Revalidates National Link Chapel

The leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council, Tuesday, October 9, revalidated the inauguration of an arm of the union "National Link Chapel", in Nnewi, Anambra State. The Chairman and Secretary of NUJ in the state, Emmanuel Ifesinachi and Emmanuel Udeagha, respectively, led the leadership of the union to the inauguration. While performing the ceremony for the revalidation of the Chapel, the NUJ chairman, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi, commended the founder of the newspaper, Hon. Galadinchi, Imo CP, Steps Aside For CP Ali Ganja

Less than twenty hours after Senator Hope Uzodinma representing Imo East (Orlu Zone) in the upper chamber called for removal of the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Galadinchi, the Nigeria Police has asked him to step down for CP Ali Ganja, for the time being. Nigerian Notch, reliably gathered that the call for Galadinchi to step aside was to allow the new CP to take over activities especially as regards the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. According to our source, CP Galadinchi was not asked to leave the state but to step down for the conduct of the primary election which has caused series of issues in the state,with the sitting governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha of APC and the coalition forces at struggling to gain the soul of the party in the state.
