The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has asked the management of Innoson Motors to go into full production of Armoured Personal Carriers to assist the government in fighting insurgency in the country. The IGP made this call at Nnewi, Anambra State at the commissioning of Innoson Vehicle Automated Plant and unveiling of Innoson IVM Granite 2019 edition. IGP Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, who was represented by his Deputy, Agboola Oshodi-Glover, commended Innoson for providing camouflage vehicles for the army to tackle several forms of insecurity. GOVERNOR Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Wednesday night told President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to get ready for aggressive marketing of the President and the party, declaring that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would not be a push over in the 2019 general elections. Governor Bello who stated this when President Buhari hosted a dinner for youth political appointees at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, warned the APC against complacency, saying that opposition should not be taken for granted if the APC should win the election. Former Ireland striker Andy Keogh has dismissed Usain Bolt’s ambition to be a footballer and derided his touch, saying it’s like that of a trampoline. His verdict came Friday as the coach of the Central Coast Mariners refused to say whether he believes the sprint star can make it as a footballer. Keogh, who plays for Perth Glory, said it would be a “kick in the teeth” to footballers if the eight-time Olympic champion earns a professional contract with Australia’s Mariners. The 32-year-old Jamaican, who retired from athletics last year, has been on trial with the A-League club since August but contract negotiations have stalled and he is no longer training.
