Today, being Thursday, March 28, 2019, a professional colleague, Christian Chukwuemeka Nwannedimma, who is known in the pen profession as Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, turns 42 years. Coincidentally too, Odogwu is marking his 20th year as a professional journalist, having delved into the profession in March, 1999. Born on March 28, 1977, in Amanuke, Anambra State, Odogwu had his early education at the Community Primary School, Amanuke, and New Layout Primary School II, Abakaliki. He attended Urban Secondary School, Abakaliki, as well as Comprehensive Secondary School, Nawfia; 1990-1992 and 1993-1995 respectively.  From inception, Odogwu planned his journey into journalism, and followed his dreams religiously by acquiring requisite educational qualifications and trainings.   The All Progressives Congress on Wednesday says it cannot help the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, who has been denied a certificate of return as a senator-elect because he is still on suspension. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Isa-Onilu, said this at a Press conference in Abuja. He said the governor himself was aware of his suspension, hence, “he has not reported his dilemma to the party.” Isa-Onilu said, “We cannot take any position on that now. Governor Okorocha is on suspension. He, too, has not reported the case to us because he knows he is on suspension. “Until that is vacated, we can’t handle his case.”

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic Auchi in Edo State, Dr Momodu Sanusi Jimah has said sex for marks and sorting of lecturers by students in the school has become a thing of the past but that on the contrary, lecturers are now dragging students to management for attempting to compromise them. Speaking to journalists on the school’s coming convocation ceremonies, Jimah said 245 students would be graduating with distinctions in the 2017/2018 session adding that graduates of the school can defend their grades anywhere in the world. Nigerian Notch, authoritatively learnt from a very reliable inner source that a former Deputy Governor, Policy and Corporate Services at the Central Bank of Nigeria from 1999 to 2009, Mr. Ernest Ebi would lead the committee which may be announced later today. Mr. Ebi currently serves as an Independent Director at Coronation Capital Mauritius Limited as well as, Member of the Governing Board of Venture Garden Nigeria. He is a Non-Executive Director of Dangote Cement Plc since January 30, 2014, and had worked in various departments of International Merchant Bank in Lagos before he went to the CBN.

The Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) says it's performance in the just concluded general elections is outstanding. The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu who was speaking with journalists said the performance is attributable to quality of leadership offered by Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu's led executive committee. He pointed out that PDP was always bedeviled by factions and divisional tendencies before any major election which according to him is not so under the watch of Chief Nwobu. The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, ordered substituted service of the petition challenging the outcome of the February 23 presidential election, on President Muhammadu Buhari. Buhari and Atiku The tribunal ordered that copies of all the legal processes should be served on Buhari through any senior officer at the national headquarters of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abuja. The order followed an ex-parte application that was filed by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. A three-man panel of Justices of the Court of Appeal led by Justice Abdul Aboki, granted the ex-parte motion the petitioners moved through their lawyers, Mr. Chris Uche, SAN. An undergraduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, was on Friday found dead, and her eyes and underwear missing from her corpse found at the Commissioners’ Quarters behind the Anambra State Government House. A resident of the area, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said, “The corpse of the 300 level student of the university was dropped by the roadside around Commissioners’ Quarters by an unknown car.” The source gave the name of the student as Pauline. He added, “The true cause of her death has not been ascertained, but the corpse has been taken away by the police “She was found dead without her underwear and eyes at a junction before Demonstration Primary and Secondary School, Commissioners’ Quarters, Awka, close to GRA Phase 3 Agu Awka, a suburb of the state capital. “This is one in many deaths recorded among students of the university.
