Uzodinma admonish appointees to Shun Corruption or Face Sanctions.

Imo Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has charged his newly cleared appointees to shun corruption, and embrace his 3R mantra, Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery, tasking them to work assiduously towards achieving results or be ready to be shown the way out. Governor Uzodinma who spoke on Thursday while flagging off a three-day Induction Retreat for the Appointees and other top government officials tagged “Re-energizing Imo: Towards Sustainable Development – A collective Action” at Imo Concorde Hotel, said, “Let me make it abundantly clear that my government has zero tolerance for corruption. Anyone of you involved in corrupt practice will not only be removed from office, but will be handed over to the relevant Security Agencies for prosecution. I am aware that some government officials are already tinkering with the idea of circumventing due process in the conduct of government business. Appeal court reverses Ifeanyi Ubah’s sacking as Senator

The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday reversed the judgment of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) that sacked Ifeanyi Ubah as a Senator. The FCT high court on Thursday, April 11, 2019, removed Ubah as Senator for Anambra South senatorial district. But a three-man panel of the court, led by Justice Stephen Adah said the judgment was given without jurisdiction Justice Adah said Ubah was denied fair hearing by the FCT High Court and ruled that the certificate forgery case against Ubah was a nullity. The judge said the record of proceedings before the FCT High Court showed that there was no evidence that Ubah was served with processes in relation to the case. Justice Adah stated that the originating summons of the case which was heard before the FCT High Court was not signed by any lawyer as required by the Rules of the High Court of the FCT. Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has advised the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, to think before he talks on political matters, particularly as they concern the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) he pretends to love more than other members of the party. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Adams Oshiomhole, sang a conciliatory tune on Tuesday when he enjoined his colleagues in the National Working Committee to put the interests of Nigerians first. He also suggested that the first post-crisis NWC should be devoted to “having a conversation around the coronavirus”. Oshiomhole, holding his ‘rival’  Victor Giadom, said, “If it is one hour that we spend here, let us have a conversation around this issue.” According to him, it should be an issue of concern that other countries were closing their international borders to contain the spread of the virus but Nigeria has yet to follow suit. FG suspends $22.7bn borrowing plan

The federal government has suspended its $22.7 billion external borrowing plan, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, announced on Monday, Premium Times has has revealed.
