Tackling Security Challenges in the Aftermath of #EndSARS Protests in Anambra

  By SP Haruna Mohammed In what initially started as a peaceful protests against alleged Police brutality, which has attracted both national and international attention, a swift response has been gotten from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu. This led to the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), as well as taking other positive steps, to address the matter in order to avert a breakdown of law and order. But, despite frantic efforts by the government to address the matter amicably, all of a sudden, hoodlums--in Anambra, like in other States--hijacked the protests, launching vicious and 'murderous' attacks on police personnel and their facilities, on the night of 21st October 2020, in Nnewi, through to the evening of 24th October 2020 in Uli. 9 MISSING POLICE OFFICERS RESCUED

As IGP Reassures Nigerians Of Improved Security on Highways ahead of the Yuletide    The Nigeria Police have successfully rescued Nine (9) Police Officers who earlier went missing on 8th November, 2020 between Kankara town and Sheme in Katsina State after the night commercial bus they were traveling in came under attack by heavily armed men, all dressed in Military Camouflage, but suspected to be bandits.  The officers, all Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), were on their way to Gusau in Zamfara State from Maiduguri at the time of the incident. Two of the officers are currently receiving medical attention in a hospital, while the remaining seven are being debriefed.  Covert operation to locate and rescue the officers commenced immediately they were discovered missing en-route to their destination. Southern Kaduna: District Head, son killed in Zango Kataf

The military under the auspices of Operation Safe Haven has informed the Kaduna State Government of the killing of the District Head of Gidan Zaki, Mr. Haruna Kuye, and his son, Destiny Kuye, in the early hours of Tuesday, November 17, 2020. A statement issued by the Commissioner for Internal security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan on Tuesday morning revealed that they were killed in their residence at Gidan Zaki, Zangon Kataf local government. Did not Join APC For Presidential Ambition, I Will Quit Politics In 2023, - Umahi

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has faulted the claims that he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to achieve his ambition of becoming the president in 2023. He told reporters on Tuesday in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital that the insinuation that he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) with such an intention was nothing but false. Rather, the governor disclosed that he would quit politics by the end of his second term in office in the next three years. He said, ”People can write all that they want to write, it is not my business. Umahi officially defects to APC

Ebonyi state Governor Dave Umahi has officially joined the All Progressives Party (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party. He confirmed his switch to the central ruling during his interaction with journalists in his office, at the new Government House, Abakaliki.   Umahi told Journalists that his reason for APC was to protest for injustice being done to the south east by PDP.
