CP ABANG DECORATES NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS IN ANAMBRA

.........Task them to rededicate themselves towards national service.  The commissioner of police in Anambra state, CP John Abang, following approval by the Police Service Commission for the promotion of Senior Police Officers on the recommendation of the Inspector-general of Police *IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM,mni,has decorated 21 police officers in the command. Metuh Jets out to UK for Medical Treatment

Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, has departed the country for medical treatment of his protracted spinal cord ailment. The former PDP spokesman was sighted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday evening on crutches, accompanied by some family members and close associates. Reprieve came to Metuh following December 16, Appeal Court judgement annulling his conviction by Justice Okon Abang on the grounds of bias, consequent upon which Justice Nkeonye Maha of the Federal High Court, on December 24, granted him bail, and ordered the release of his international passport for a period of 45 days to travel within and outside the jurisdiction of the court. It would be recalled that Justice Abang had rejected several applications by Metuh to travel for medical treatment. The National President of Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi, Hon Jude Osumouh has restated the readiness of his community to officially open its ultra modern hall and event complex on the 31st of December 2020. He made this known yesterday, while interacting with newsmen at his office. He went down memory lane to recount the exploits Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi community has made in the past in Nnewi, stressing that his community have also led the way for others to follow. He said as pacesetters, his community in 1973 established the first vigilante group in Nnewi to combat crime. He said that was possible because of the unite of purpose which has been the benchmark of his community. 2023 Presidency: Ndigbo should put their house in order- George Moghalu

The Managing Director (MD) of National Inland Water Ways (NIWA) Chief George Moghalu has called on Ndigbo to work hard in their bid towards ascending the presidency, in 2023. TREATMENT AND CARE FOR VICTIMS OF GUNSHOT ACT 2017: WHAT THE LAW SAYS

The Compulsory Treatment and Care for Victims of Gunshot Act 2017 was enacted precisely on the 29th of December 2017. It provides for compulsory treatment and care for gunshot victims. The Act stipulates that persons with gunshot wounds are to be received for immediate and adequate treatment by any hospital in Nigeria with or without initial monetary deposit and also without a Police report. The law however states that, It shall be the duty of any hospital that receives or accepts any person with a gunshot wound to report the fact to the nearest police station within two (2) hours of commencement of treatment. And upon receipt of the aforesaid report, the Police shall immediately commence investigation with a view to determining the circumstances under which the person was shot.The Police may not receive any person with gunshot wounds from the hospital for the purposes of investigation unless and until the Chief Medical Director of the hospital certifies him fit and no longer in dire n

Army kill 38 bandits, recover arms in Zamfara, Katsina forests – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disclosed that the Troops of the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has killed scores of armed bandits in separate operations conducted in Katsina and Zamfara States. This was stated in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General John Eneche Gen Eneche said that the operations in Katsina State included an airstrike executed on Tuesday after intelligence reports indicated that a group of bandits, armed with high calibre weapons, had rustled some cattle and attacked commuters along the Batsari-Jibia Road. He said that the bandits who were reportedly retreating with the stolen livestock towards Garin Labo, were tracked and located by a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) attack helicopter, as they were heading towards Runka Forest. Four Houses Destroyed in Anambra Community Crisis, Indigenes Beg Obiano to Intervene

At least four houses have been destroyed in Nawfia community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State following crisis allegedly instigated by some influential members of the community. Indigenes of the community have called on the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano and the commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang to investigate the crisis, with a view to meting appropriate punishment to those behind it. The Governor of IMO state, Hope Uzodimma  has said that he will publish in the newspapers by January 2, 2020, details of all Imo workers and pensioners who have passed the automation process and have been receiving their entitlements till date so that those still in doubt will know how serious the government is with the automation.
