Farmer dispute has taken on acute and violent dimensions. It has cost too many innocent lives while destroying the property and livelihoods of many others. It has also aggravated ethnic sentiment and political tension. Despite the efforts of some of those in positions of high responsibility and public trust, the crisis has not significantly abated. Sadly, others who should know better have incited matters by tossing about hate-tainted statements that fall dangerously short of the leadership these people claim to provide. We all must get hold of our better selves to treat this matter with the sobriety it requires.   Because of the violence that has ensued and the fretful consequences of such violence if left unabated, we must move in unison but decisively to end the spiral of death and destruction. National Education Summit: Stakeholders Roll Out Infused Trafficking in Persons (TIP) into School Curriculum

The minister of state for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has rolled out the Infused Trafficking in Persons (TIP) school curriculum in Nigeria, in conjunction with the Honorable minister of humanitarian affairs, Disaster Management and Social development, Hajia Sadiya Farouq, with the DG of NAPTIP, Hajia Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim.The occasion also had in attendance,  commissioners for education from the 36 states. Some concerned northerners on Friday in Kaduna asked the regime of the President, Muhammadu Buhari, to arrest a former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, or release ex-governors Joshua Dariye and Jolly Nyame in Correctional Centres over corruption charges. The group under the aegis of Concerned Northern Forum, a coalition of other organizations, also asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to commence the prosecution of the former governor over alleged corruption. One of the leaders of the forum, and National President, Northern Nigeria Youth Forum, Alhaji Abdulsalam Kazeem, at a press conference held at the Arewa House, Kaduna, noted that they are bothered on what’s happening in Imo State because northerners are also residing in the state. He was a celebrated author, a widely-read columnist, a highly sought-after speechwriter, a fearless journalist, and a multi-dimensional media entrepreneur. Valentine Ozigbo, the frontline Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant, for the 6th November Anambra State gubernatorial election, has advised on what he described as the "non-negotiable steps and factors" the party's stakeholders should take and consider, before throwing their weight behind a flagbearer.
