NAFDAC harps on exclusive breastfeeding

The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Kaduna has advised nursing and lactating mothers to place their babies  below age five months on exclusive breastfeeding. The Kaduna State Coordinator of the agency, Mr Nasiru Mato, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Kaduna, that exclusive breastfeeding would prepare such children for a healthy living. Mato also urged nursing mothers’ strict compliance to marketing Breast Milk Substitutes (BMS) to aid infant’s nutrition. He said that this would protect infants and young children’s feeding through promotion, protection and support for exclusive breastfeeding. He described breast milk as natural and God-given food that is full of nourishment for babies and a balanced diet for optimum healthy growth for infants. Abba Kyari breaks silence on suspension, reacts to Tunji Disu’s appointment

Erstwhile deputy commissioner of police, Abba Kyari has broken silence after his suspension. Recall that Kyari was suspended by IGP Usman Alkali Baba on Sunday over his alleged relationship with Ramon Abbas, self-confessed international fraudster better known as Hushpuppi. In a statement on Tuesday, Abba Kyari urged everyone not be worried about him as he is in good spirits. He said he will spend these moments bonding with friends and family as he has been busy for eleven years fighting against criminals and bandits. On the Hushpuppi’s saga, Kyari maintained that the truth will soon come out. “All those who know me closely know that I detest lies. Everything I say and post is the truth. The truth on this issue will come out soonest, to clear all doubts”. Seven PDP NWC members resign

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Seven members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have resigned, The Nation has learnt. The party’s National Organising Secretary, Colonel Austin Akobundu (retd), confirmed this on Tuesday. It was gathered those who resigned include: the Deputy National Financial Secretary, Deputy Legal Adviser, Deputy National Auditor, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Deputy Women Leader, and Deputy Organising Secretary. The Nation could not confirm the seventh officer at the time of filing this report. They promised to remain loyal to the PDP but said they will not be able to work with the current national working committee (NWC).  

APC Ikeduru: Charvon Tears Party LGA Apart With Parallel Congress Result

ANAMBRA 2021: DEFECTING ASPIRANTS WILL NOT BE MISSED -- PMP

The Progressive Movement for Peace (PMP)' led by Emeka Nnebedum as it's  National Coordinator has bemoaned a fake news making the rounds on some online platforms, purporting that 12 aspirants that participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Anambra State, primary election for the forthcoming governorship election on  November 6th 2021 have defected and were on the verge of joining other political parties. In a press release made avaliable to Nigerian Notch Newspaper by the group, it further stated that" the fake reports of defection comes after series of marathon meetings in the efforts to resolve disagreements between the party and aggrieved aspirants who could not make it, at the party primary election held in June 26, 2021." Furthermore,  members of PMP, wish to state clearly and unambiguously that only three aspirants of very little or no political consequence have made such decision. They are; Chidozie Nwankwo, Ben Etiaba  and Geff Onyejegbu.

FBI INDICTMENT: IGP RECOMMENDS SUSPENSION OF DCP ABBA KYARI

AS 4-MAN SPECIAL INVESTIGATION PANEL BEGINS PROBE The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc has recommended the immediate suspension of DCP Abba Kyari, the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), from the Service of the Nigeria Police Force, pending the outcome of an ongoing internal investigations touching on him. The IGP, in his letter to the Police Service Commission, dated 31st July, 2021, noted that the recommendation for the suspension of the officer, is in line with the internal disciplinary processes of the Force.  The IGP further noted that the suspension is also expected to create an enabling environment for the NPF Special Investigation Panel to carry out its investigations into the weighty allegations against DCP Abba Kyari without interference.
