GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA AND THE PEOPLE'S BUDGET

Undistracted by the various challenges that confronted the State during the year, His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma had engaged in Town Hall Meetings with critical Stakeholders from each of the 27 Local Government Areas. During which the people presented their requests and demands. Having developed a roadmap from the outcome of these Town Hall Meetings, His Excellency has captured these demands in the 2022 Budget Estimate as he presented "The People's Budget" to the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) for consideration and appropriation. A breakdown of the Budget Estimate proposed a Capital Expenditure of N284.7b which represents 74.6% of the total Budget. This is a clear declaration of State of Emergency on infrastructural development across the State within the year 2022. DEEPENING DEMOCRACY THROUGH STAKEHOLDERS COLLABORATION: THE UZODIMMA'S EXAMPLE

On Saturday, December 18, 2021, the Governor of Imo State, most Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, will hold a special interactive meeting with all the newly elected, ward, local government areas, and state officers of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State, at the Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu's Square (Former Heroes' Square, Owerri), by 10 am. This will be the first of it's kind since the emergence of Hon. Macdonald Kelechi Ebere's led state executive committee of the party. Recall that in his inaugural speech as Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma said: "My government shall be a faithful covenant between the people and the government...Every Imo person shall have a say in government and shall be so recognized." In keeping with the foregoing avowal, Governor Uzodimma, has made interactive engagements with Imo people, an essential policy of his administration. EEDC SENDS CHRISTMAS GREETINGS TO ITS CUSTOMERS

The Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) has wished its customers a Merry Christmas celebration, and a happy and prosperous new year, assuring them of quality service during the yuletide. The greeting was conveyed yesterday (Wednesday) by the Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, during the Christmas Edition of its Customer Dialogue - a virtual customer engagement initiative by the company to periodically interface with its customers and get feedback on how the company has fared in serving them. According to Ezeh, the engagement was principally to appreciate its esteemed customers for their support and cooperation in the course of the year. Anambra Commiserates with Ex-Governor Ezeife over Wife’s Death

The Anambra State Government has commiserated with former Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife over the death of his wife, Mrs Njideka Ezeife, which occurred three days ago. Mrs Ezeife was the Anambra State First Lady from January, 1992, to November, 1993, when the husband was the state governor. UZODIMMA INITIATES INDUSTRIAL POLICY FOR IMO STATE

In partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a specialized Agency of the World Body that assists Nations in Economic and Industrial Development, the Imo State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has initiated an Industrial Policy for Imo State. His Excellency, the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has signed into law the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act VAPP today in the presence of Her Excellency, Barr (Mrs) Chioma Uzodimma who has championed the enactment of this very law in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence in our society. This Act which is an improvement on the penal and criminal code in relation to violence, seek to eliminate violence in private and public life, prohibit all forms of violence including physical, sexual, psychological, domestic, harmful traditional practices, discrimination against persons and to provide maximum protection and effect remedies for victims and punishment for offenders. Yesterday, as the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma marked his 63rd birthday anniversary, imolites gathered in their numbers to join the family, friends and associates of the governor in celebration and thanksgiving to the Lord for his grace. FIRE INCIDENT DESTROYS CHRIS-TEE, & SILVER FUELING STATIONS NEAR BOROMIO ROUNDABOUT

Yesterday, 12 December 2021, a tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exploded at Chris-Tee filling station near Boromio roundabout, Onitsha causing harm and total damage to the gas station.  Men of the Fire Service and FRSC Rescue Team were seen on ground working very hard to curtail the inferno. The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye A Irelewuyi implored the public to be calm and patient, while the Fire Service battle the Fire and prevent it's escalation. Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off and traffic diverted, for ease of movement. According to an eye witness Report, the fire started at CHRISTEE Gas plant and spread over to the two other nearby Fuelling Stations (CHRISTEE and SILVER Fuelling Stations). The fire is still ongoing, but the Fire Service is on top of the situation working assiduously to put off the fire. However, the total damages and casualties are yet to be ascertained, as the fire is still burning.

EEDC CAUTION CUSTOMERS ON THE RISING RATE OF VANDALISM, ASSURES QUALITY SERVICE DURING THE YULETIDE

As the yuletide draws closer, the Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) has renewed its stride in sensitizing its customers on the need to be more vigilant during the season as activities of vandals is on the rise, a situation that if not checked will result to customers being subjected to darkness during the festive period. Recounting that over 20 vandals were apprehended within its network between the month of October and November, 2021. The warning was made by the Head of Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh while interacting with newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday, following the arrest of two suspected vandals on Friday by the vigilante team of Nri, in Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State. The suspects, identified as Ugochukwu Nweri and Eugene Azali were arrested for vandalising the Ugwuokporo D7 distribution substation located at Agukwu Nri.  Having lifted the transformer from the plinth, the duo went ahead to drain the oil, cut some parts of the upriser and por
