With the increasing rate of Out-Of-School Children borne out of the several socio-economic factors, insecurity inclusive, the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education embarked on a national campaign on out of school phenomenon.  At the banquet Hall of the Niger State Government House, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba reiterated the government's commitment towards increasing the number of children in schools.  He urged all stakeholders to put in more efforts in eradicating this menace. Joining him on this was the Executive Governor of Niger State, Alh. Abubakar Bello who asked the Minister to do more by getting international donor agencies to help fight this cause.

Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, the Minister of State for Education As early as 7.30am was already at Kuta Shiroro Niger state, to assess the security situation for learning at the Federal Science and Technical College,Kuta, Niger State,having reviewed the situation at Birinin Yauri, Kebbi State four days ago upon the return of 30 abducted students. This is inline with his  continued engagement with the nation's security operatives driving the overall safety architecture of the country which remains a major plank of the Ministry's 's total manpower  production drive. The Honorable Minister also called upon Colleges especially technical colleges to look inward in solving their problems instead of relying on the procurement mechanism at the Ministry. He made this call while inspecting the Chalk Production Unit at the school. He stressed that time has come for proactive measures which will help the overall well-being on Institutions in the country.

The Honorable Minister of State Education, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba earlier in Minna paid a courtesy visit to Gen. Ibrahim Babangida at his Hilltop Mansion. The Honorable Minister who was on an official visit to Niger State paid a courtesy visit to the former Head of State and elder Statesman. They both discussed the State of the nation and charting a way forward. Describing the Minister as quite a brilliant man, Gen. Babangida appreciated Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba for the visit, expressing excitement at the great ideas and thoughts coming from the Minister.

Sometime in 2017, the world apex bank introduced a performance based programme  that would make them monitor and rate the fiscal performance of states. To that effect, world bank entered into a mutual agreement with the Federal Government which gave birth to a programme known as The State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS) Programme. The rationale behind the State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS) Programme is informed by the current serious fiscal challenges faced by the states with many unable to pay backlog of salary arrears of  several months due to poor fiscal governance occasioned by high cost of governance, profligacy poor revenue drive amongst others.
