Ifeanyi Ubah standing in the Gap, on behalf of his constituents.

By Igbo Chigozie  It's worthy to note that In the ancient world of the Bible, cities had walls surrounding them, which provided protection from enemies and hooligans from penetrating into their domains.  When the wall was breached, the city was vulnerable to destruction; the only way to secure it was for people to risk their lives, by literally standing in the gap on the wall and fighting the enemy. The narration above best describes Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, who in the last three years has stood in the Gap for Ndi Anambra South Senatorial District. He has so far in the Senate protected the people from the hawks who have since 1999 coverted the position of the Senate as theirs  while the people languished in abject want  and lack of proactive legislation for the overall good of the people.  In his bid to change the narrative of old in the zone , Senator Ubah has quietly done a yeomans job despite his refusal to blow

INSECURITY IN IMO: AMBY UNEZE'S ATTEMPT TO DISTORT HISTORY IS DISTURBING

By Collins Ughalaa KSC  If Government must fight insecurity to a standstill in Imo, all hands must be on deck. We must play our different roles because security is everyone's business. If we look the other way, or give covert support to non-state actors because our opponent is in power, we may be riding on the back of the tiger. This is why we get worried when people who should know better begin to say things that are unbecoming, by making incendiary comments, glamorizing acts of terror or pummelling government each time there is operational pushback against non-state actors. Journalists have a lot to do in this regard.  A good example of what a journalist should not do in time of insurgency is the kind of article written on Thursday, August 4, 2022, by the State Correspondent of ThisDay newspaper, Amby Uneze. Captioned "The unmasking of the unknown gunmen", Uneze made claims that distort recent history. He gave himself out as someone acting a script, by calling for the

NIGERIA ARMY REFUTES NEWS OF HER PERSONNEL SACKING A COMMUNITY IN IMO STATE

The news making rounds on the sacking of a community in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, by the personnel of the Nigerian Army, has been refuted in a press release by the security agency.  The Army authority dismissed the publication as lacking in merit, having been economical with the truth on the operation. It was further described as an artwork of those opposed to peace and tranquility in the State as the story did not reflect the true situation. According to the authority, in continuation of the security onslaught against criminal elements in Imo State, who have dominated a region of the State, the Nigeria Army embarked on an operation yesterday at the identified camps of these hoodlums in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State. The joint operation yielded positive results with the Nigerian Army dislodging the hoodlums and razed down their camps. Various arms and ammunition were also recovered including their operational vehicles as well as some members of the gang. Recall

UCHE ONYEAGOCHA DESPERATELY SEEKING THE ATTENTION OF GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA

Okere Andrew, MA I have read another mischievous, piqued and maudlin online publication credited to Uche Onyeagocha over his ridiculous and derisory call for the immediate resignation of Gov. Hope Uzodimma which repletes with exaggerations that did not ring true. It is not surprising and unbeknown to me that the PDP lynchpin will result to this self-seeking attention especially as it concerns insecurity in the state since it has become obvious that his party the PDP are covertly sponsoring the insecurity in Imo State while overtly sympathetic to them each time the state government clamps down on them after terrorising communities in the state. It is clear to Uche Onyeagocha that his actions of March 9, 2019 governorship election at the collation center where he rushed to INEC table, grabbed the results sheets and tore it into shreds and was arrested, detained and prosecuted for it as well as the same man PDP used in staging a violent protest against the judgement of the Supreme Court
