ACTIVITIES OF VANDAL IMPEDING SERVICE DELIVERY - EEDC

EIGHT ARRESTED FOR VANDALISM The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has attributed the service disruptions experienced in some parts of its network to activities of vandals, even as it confirmed the apprehension of eight suspected vandals for their involvement in the attack of electrical installations belonging to EEDC. This disclosure was made on Thursday through a statement issued by the Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh. In the statement, Ezeh lamented bitterly on how the increasing rate of vandalism has adversely affected the company’s service delivery to its customers. He also commended the support of critical stakeholders and the various vigilante groups in nipping this ugly trend in the bud, even as he confirmed that most of the arrests were made by the vigilant groups. INEC DATABASE COMPROMISE: IMO GOVERNMENT DEMANDS ARREST OF IKENGA UGOCHINYERE

The Imo State Government has called for the arrest and questioning of one Ikenga Ugochinyere for claiming that Voter Registration in Omuma, the home Ward of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State was inflated with fictitious names. The Imo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba made the call on Friday September 16, 2022 during a media conference that "ignoring the spurious and seditious outburst of Ugochinyere will amount to condoning criminality." He therefore called on the relevant security agencies to "immediately arrest the said Ugochinyere to find out from him how he obtained the voters register he has been parading before the public even when the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC is still at the stage of Automated Biometric Verification of Systems, which must be concluded before an official voters register can be released to the public." Insecurity in Anambra: Journalists condemn attack on Senator Ubah.

ISOPADEC RELEASES FUNDS TO SELECTED GROUPS

The Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) has today disbursed the monthly subvention to select groups in the Oil Producing communities. The CEO/MD of ISOPADEC, Chief Charles Orie at the ISOPADEC Complex met with select groups which includes the physically challenged groups, Traditional rulers in the oil kingdoms, ISOPADEC Youths, and ISOPADEC women of the three (3) Local Governments of the Oil Producing Kingdom. Chief Charles Orie, at the meeting commended the Governor, His Excellency, Hope Uzodimma for the approval of the subventions and support to the commission and the empowerments of the  people of the Oil producing communities in the State.
