SOLUDO RECIEVES THE STATE LAW REVIEW COMMITTEE, CALLS FOR DIGITIZATION OF ANAMBRA LAWS TO ACHIEVE INTERNATIONAL ACCEPTABILITY

The Committee which was set up by the immediate past administration paid a courtesy call on Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia, to officially submit it's report. Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing asks Southerners to resist the reign of terror sponsored by Ekpa

  Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has asked the people of Southeast to resist a full reign of terror being sponsored by enemies of Ndigbo through Simon Ekpa. Ekpa, a self acclaimed discipline of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had ordered Ndigbo to stay at home for five days. 2023: Publish Your Campaign Fund Sources, SERAP Tells Presidential Candidates

Civil society organization, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged the 18 presidential candidates contesting the 2023 election to regularly and widely publish the sources of their campaign funding. SERAP, which made the demand in an open letter it wrote to all the candidates, said this would demonstrate leadership, transparency and accountability if they direct their campaign councils and political parties to publish the sources. The group in the letter signed by its deputy director, Kolawole Oluwadare, SERAP insisted that it is concerned about the vulnerability of political parties to corruption because disproportionately large donations seeking specific outcomes or preferential treatment can subvert the wider public interest. 7th INEC Facility Burnt In 4 Months As Arsonists Attack Imo Office

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Oru West local government area of Imo State whas been burnt down, increasing the number of attacks on the Commission’s facilities to seven located in five states of the Federation in the last four months.  The arsonist attack, according to a statement signed by the National Commissioner and chairman,Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, made available to journalists on Sunday in Abuja. Lawyers Announce New Body To Rival NBA, Founding Secretary Kicks

Some legal practitioners in Nigeria have established another professional association of lawyers known as the Law Society of Nigeria (LSN) thereby splitting the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). The association which is led by Kunle Ogunba (SAN), according to its promoters, was formed to break the monopoly of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), which is the sole umbrella body for the legal profession in Nigeria since 1933. A copy of its certificate of registration, seen by newsmen, showed that it was registered as far back as December 1994 On its Twitter page @LawSocietyofNig, the association describes itself as an alternative for change. Amb Charles Nwonye has applauded Prof Chukwuma Soludo on the employment of 5000 new teachers into the Anambra state civil service. In his words Amb Nwonye said "It is indeed a laudable feat achieved by the working executive governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo, with his recent employment of 5,000 teachers across the 21 local governments in Anambra State, on the 2nd December, 2022, with Nnewi North LGA getting more than 100 teachers, into the Anambra state civil service."
