Don't set Enugu ablaze - Ohanaeze Youths warn Okey Ezea

The Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has come hard on the Senator-elect for Enugu North Senatorial zone, Barr. Okey Ezea over his ‘do or die comment’.  Ezea was said to have told his constituents that the forthcoming governorship election would be a do or die affair.  However, in a statement by the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, he said Ezea’s alleged utterances should be condemned by all lovers of democracy.  Okwu said it was shocking that Ezea who benefited from the goodwill and political tsunami led by Mr. Peter Obi could turn around to instigate violence. The president-elect, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday visited the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) in Daura, Katsina State. President Buhari Congratulates Tinubu

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the winner of this year’s Presidential Election, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. BREAKING: INEC declares Tinubu winner of presidential election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the president-elect. Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, was declared the president-elect after the 70-year-old polled 8,794,726 votes to win the 2023 presidential election. The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced Tinubu as the winner at the International Collation Centre in Abuja during the early hours of Wednesday. Tinubu won the election ahead of other contenders  — the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar; the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi; and the New Nigeria Peoples Party candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso. The three leading presidential candidates won in 12 states each while Kwankwaso claimed only Kano State. Tinubu edged Atiku, a former vice president and his closest challenger, with no fewer than 1.8 million votes. Suspend protests: Ohanaeze youths beg

Amid the tension in the country over the presidential election results being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has appealed for calm. There is anger in several parts of the country, with voters alleging that the result being announced was different from the outcome at the various polling units. In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, the National President of the Igbo group, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike urged the youths to remain calm and not take actions that could inflame the nation. He said the remarks credited to Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party, wherein he urged his supporters to remain calm, was reassuring. Senator Ubah wins Anambra South Senatorial District Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the senatorial candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, winner of the Anambra South senatorial election held on Saturday, February 25. He was returned by Prof Ebele Nwokoye.  The YPP candidate got 73,115 to win the election; while his closest rival, Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu of APGA, occupied second position with 45,369; while LP and PDP trailed behind with 28,102, and 21,209 votes respectively. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Hon. Patrick Ndubueze as the winner of the Imo North (Okigwe Zone) Senatorial election and Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha as the winner of the Okigwe South federal constituency election in the February 25th presidential and national assembly election. This announcement was made by INEC's Returning Officer for Imo North (Okigwe Zone), after collating and announcing the results of the elections held across the zone. According to the results, Hon. Patrick Ndubueze of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated his closest rival, Hon. Okewulonu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Similarly, Hon. Breaking News INEC Declares Election In NINN Federal Constituency Inconclusive

  — Cites Nọn Conclusion of election in Njaba, others ....Over Voting Allegedly Perpetuated By OZB also responsible.  The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the federal constituency election for Njaba, Isu, Nwangele and Nkwerre (NINN) as inconclusive citing non conclusions of elections at Njaba LGA and other places as responsible. Reading the address, the returning officer, Prof. Mrs. Rosita Ijeoma Ogechukwu said that in line with the relevant law of the electoral act, there will not be any result from the federal constituency pending when the election is conclusively concluded. In order to separate fictitious numbers allegedly smuggled into the results sheet by the incumbent member, Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo (OZB), the commission declared the election inconclusive.
