Mo Ibrahim.  Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah ascribes to the above world view. President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has given reasons why the position taken by the Senate on the electronic transmission of election results. The Senate on Thursday, while considering the Electoral Act 2010 Amendment Bill, voted that “The Commission(INEC) may consider electronic transmission of results, provided the national coverage is adjudged to be adequate and secure by the National Communications Commission (NCC) and approved by the National Assembly.” Lawan explained that the Upper Chamber voted the way it did in defence of about half of the Nigerian voters whose votes may not be counted with immediate deployment or application of electronic transmission of election results.   A statement on Sunday quoted the Senate President as saying this while responding to questions from journalists on the passage of the Electoral Act 2010 Amendment Bill, during a constituency visit to his Yobe North Senatorial District.   The statement titled, ‘Why we voted for e-tran

Eze (Okofia VI)  has called on the Nigeria Correctional Service to consider youths of Ukpo whenever the Service is carrying its recruitment excercise . Igwe Dr R.C. As part of its efforts towards entrenching the right knowledge and orientation in its public, the Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) has embarked on massive stakeholder education/sensitization campaign to schools within its franchise area. The campaign is aimed at orientating school children who are seen as the “leaders of tomorrow” at the early stage of their lives on electrical safety and electricity distribution operations. The Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, made this known after the team from EEDC visited Lady Ibiam Girls Secondary School, Enugu, to engage the students earlier today (Thursday). According to him, these children are witnesses to illegal activities going on within their environment, and are already growing up, seeing these illegalities as normal. “As a result of this, our organization decided to adopt the approach of “training up a child in the way he/she should go, so that when he/she grows, he/she will never depart from it”.

The 3R government of Imo State is not leaving any stone unturned in the recovery program of the administration.  The gazetted white paper report from the judiciary commission of inquiry on land matters seems to be inexhaustible with list of public properties illegally acquired by the Rochas Okorocha administration and associates. Following a court order, the Imo State government recovered 53 hectares of land from Orji in Owerri North LGA of Imo State which were illegally acquired by former Governor Rochas Okorocha. This is in addition to the over 40 hectares of lands recovered from him. The government of Imo State would not be emotionally blackmailed into abandoning the mandate of Imolites which includes but not limited to the recovery of all public and private properties illegally acquired by anyone. While it is the right of anyone to acquire lands whenever the state advertises for such, it remains the prerogative of the law to dictate the procedure and process for such acquisitions.
