IMO NUMBER IS FREE AND NOT TARGETED AT TAXING PENSIONERS

The ongoing exercise for the registration  of all resident in Imo State leading to the issuance  of Imo Social Security Benefits Number (IMSSBN) has been misinterpreted by rumor mongers that Government plans to tax Pensioners. This falsehood as spread by the merchants of lies remains as fales as it was sold out. The issuance  of Imo Number is for everyone  resident in Imo and was established  by the State Government for statistical analysis in planning  purposes.  The law establishing  pension makes it clear that pension is not taxable, therefore it is an exhibition of ignorance by these Merchants to have propagated  falsehood to the public.  Based  on the elucidated, it has become  pertinent for clarification  that this is not a Pension verification  excercise; it is not a prerequisite for payment of pension or salary and no fee is charged. The General  public  are therefore advised to disregard the rumor making round with baseless facts. #HopeNewAndElectronicMediaCenter
