The Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC), wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Enugu of a planned outage by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) scheduled to take place on 4th November, 2023.  The outage is to enable the TCN engineers carry out maintenance on their T1A 150MVA Power Transfomer at the their New Haven Station, Enugu.   This exercise will affect our Kingsway Line 1&2 33KV, New Haven 33KV, Government House 33KV, Independence Layout 33KV, and New NNPC 33KV feeders.  Consequently, electricity supply to our customers in parts of Emene, entire 9th Mile and sorrounding communities, New Haven, Independence Layout, Coal City garden, GRA, Golf, areas behind Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), State CID, Okpara Avenue, Station Road, Colliary, Constitution Road, Railway/Good shed, Western Avenue, Bank Avenue, Ridge Way, Club Road, Kingsway Way Raod, Enugu Secratariate, Red Cross and Court Avenue, Abakaliki Road, Ogui Junction, Zoo Estate, Old Government Lod

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Imo State that the loss of supply currently being experienced is as a result of the industrial action by the organised labour union in Imo State. This led to the union shutting down our source of supply at Egbu Transmission Station, leaving us with no energy to distribute to our customers.  As a result of this development, the whole of Imo State is without electricity supply.  We appreciate the inconveniences this situation must have caused our customers, and we hope that the issue will be resolved soon.  Be assured that we are on standby to restore supply once the industrial action is called off.  EEDC is committed to improving on its processes and delivering improved services to her esteemed customers.

Tragedy struck 1 hour ago as the historic First Niger Bridge in Onitsha sparked off in fire. This is due to careless driving from a driver with fuel tanker, causing a massive explosion that is presently rocking the bridge, NIGERIAN NOTCH reports. The incident is currently sending shockwaves through the region, as  Onitsha and its surroundings at the moment is in thick smoke coming from the inferno. The First Niger Bridge, a vital link connecting the eastern and western regions of Nigeria, the bridge fell victim to the relentless flames, resulting in severe transportation disruptions and heightened safety concerns at the moment Eyewitnesses reports have it that the horrifying moment the fuel tanker erupted in flames, unleashing massive fire that rapidly devoured the bridge’s structure. Two Nigerian women, Adaeze Jaye, 43, and Success Chamika, 23, have been arrested with drugs worth over N63m in Rajasthan, India.   Pushkar police arrested the two women with a total of 65 grams of Mephedrone (MD) and a cash of Rs 65,000 cash  late on Friday, October 27, 2023.  Police in a statement on Saturday, said Rs 65,000 cash, and a digital wave machine were also seized from the accused. The value of the seized drugs has been estimated to be approximately Rs 6 lakh, the police said.    Police station in-charge, Rakesh Yadav said police have registered a case against both under the NDPS Act and started investigation.  The higher officials and the control room have been informed, Yadav added.
