Uzodimma Never advocated Muslim- Muslim presidential ticket, says Imo Govt

Imo State Government has debunked the claim by some media outlets that Gov Hope Uzodimma  advocated a Muslim- Muslim ticket for the presidential candidate of APC. The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba in a statement in Owerri on Wednesday (June 15th) said at no time did the governor canvass such a position. He said rather, Uzodimma was emphatic that religion was not mentioned as a factor in the Constitution for the election of a President or his Vice. But he added that what the country needed was a good government that will accommodate the religious and ethnic diversity of the country. "How can this position amount to advocating for Muslim/ Muslim presidential ticket?" the Commissioner asked  He regretted that mischief makers twisted the answer given by Uzodimma to state House correspondents. Emelumba noted that the exact words of Uzodimma on the choice of a vice presidential candidate was that it was the prerogative of the presidential candidate alon

In the Supreme Court judgment read by Justice Adamu Jauro on behalf of four other justices,it was held that the FCT High Court lacked jurisdiction to have heard the suit abinitio. "The trial court lacked the territorial jurisdictional competence to have entertained the suit in the first place, hence rendering the decision it reached a nullity" The Supreme Court further held thus," the law is settled that a suit should be filed in the High Court of the state in which the facts constituting the cause of action occurred; that is the High Court of the state in which the events occurred". GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA: THE BLAZE OF A TRUE DEMOCRAT!

The prophets of doom had already written off the APC special convention before it started. But they didn't contend with the adroitness of the planners. The media was awash with screaming and scary  headlines of their imaginary and impending implosion of the party over a botched convention. But they didn't reckon with the resilience of the organizers. If they knew who was behind the wheel in the just concluded national convention of the ruling ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC), they would not have been consumed by that negative energy. H.E Governor HOPE UZODIMMA deserves a big congrats for chairing a committee that delivered a flawless and most competitive party primary election in a Democratic nigeria. He worked with a team of committed party members including governors and ministers, Uzodimma delivered an awesome convention which will continue to resonate in the political firmament of Nigeria.
