APC Leadership: Akpabio Congratulates Ganduje, Bashiru On Emergence As Chairman, Secretary

IFEANYI UBAH, VISITS MAZI NNAMDI KANU IN DSS FACILITY, CALLS FOR UNITY OF PURPOSE TO RESOLVE SECURITY CHALLENGES IN THE SOUTH EAST

The duo of Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah  and His Majesty, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri( Eze Akajiovo Igbo Nile) yesterday, 3rd August 2023, paid a visit to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (MNK) as part of the ongoing efforts by the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District to bring about a speedy resolution of the insecurity issues bedeviling the southeast region. Senator Ubah, who was also accompanied on the trip by the Director-General of the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, Chief Vin Onyeka, was at the DSS facility in continuation of the series of interventions with other Igbo stakeholders, to ensure the release of Mazi Kanu from detention. Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide faults claims by IPOB, on Gov Mbah militarising Enugu State

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has faulted claims by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, that Governor Peter Mbah is militarising Enugu State.  IPOB made the allegation in a statement issued by its spokesman, Emma Powerful.  Powerful said militarising and humiliating the people of Enugu State in the guise of ending the sit-at-home order was a wrong approach and unacceptable.  However, the National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike told journalists on Friday that there has been no reported case of intimidation or humiliation of Enugu residents by the security agencies deployed to checkmate the activities of hoodlums.  Okwu, who said Governor Mbah should be commended rather than vilified, noted that the presence of security agencies at strategic locations in the State had built the confidence of residents.  According to him, a few weeks back, criminals were on a rampage in Enugu, attacking and robbing resi

UNICEF Holds Women Health Conference in Anambra

Anambra State Ministry of Health in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), yesterday organized its first Women Health Conference at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka, Anambra state.  In his opening remarks, Dr. Afam Obidike, the State Commissioner for Health, stressed that the event in line, at creating more awareness on common diseases that affect women and children, and how the participants can extend the training and teaching down to the women at community level, for better penetration, especially during this year's annual women August meeting. Dr. Obidike however urged the women to continue using anti mosquito treated nets in their various homes, as it prevents mosquitoes and reduces the usage of malaria drugs. Simon Ekpa: March words with action - Ohanaeze tells Senate

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has urged the Senate to march words with action towards ensuring a swift action by the Federal Government in handling Finland-based Simon Ekpa. The Senate had asked the Federal Government to approach the Finnish Government to extradite Simon Ekpa, a self-acclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has met with his choice physician outside the facility of the Department of State Services (DSS). The IPOB’s lead counsel Ifeanyi Ejiofor revealed this in a tweet on Sunday. He said: “Sequel to our avowed assurance to always keep Ezigbo UmuChineke abreast of pertinent happenings, especially with Onyendu’s health status, welfare and update on his legal matters, we are pleased to inform you that Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu met with his choice personal physician yesterday in a hospital in Abuja, outside the facility of the State Security Service (SSS). “As was part of the protocol, I witnessed the consultation.
