PMS Scarcity Could Mean Price Hike, FENRAD Fears, Warns Federal Government and NNPC

Given the recent scarcity of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as ''fuel" in Nigeria, Foundation for Environmental Rights Advocacy and Development, FENRAD, a pro-democracy, human and environmental rights advocacy group calls on the federal government and its Corporation, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC to desist, at least in the time being, from any act capable of causing increase in the price of the essential item (oil), including hoarding.  This fear, FENRAD says, becomes even more palpable after the product recently became scarce Some weeks ago FENRAD recalls that there was a plot to increase the price of the product to over ₦380 allegedly by the Governors Forum which the NNPC did not accept then, a plot which now becomes relatable whenever the position on oil subsidy removal is made. - FORMER PRESIDENT OBASANJO FINGERED AS RIFT BETWEEN THE TWO DEEPENS  Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume seems not to be on the good side of fate despite how hard luck tries to smile at him. The recent appointment of Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume as the Chairman NNPC Board came as a surprise to many and to others a political compensation but whatever it may be, all seems not to be sitting well with Sen. Ararume and the Presidency. President Buhari has ordered the suspension of the inauguration of the new NNPC board indefinitely of which Sen. Ararume is the Chairman which is scheduled for today 24th November. According to inside source from the Aso Villa, it seems that the rift between Sen. Ararume and Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has continued to affect the political adv

Ex-PSC Boss, Simon Okeke Insists on Igbo Presidency in 2023

The former Police Service Commission Chairman, Chief Simon Okeke has insisted that the issue of having an Igbo man as the next President of Nigeria come 2023 is sacrosanct. He made this assertion recently in an interactive session with select Journalists in his Akatar Lodge residence in Amichi Anambra state.  Okeke averred that Igbo people of the South East extraction have sound materials for the position of the president, and urged Nigerians to give the South East the opportunity to serve the country in that capacity. “Since inception of this country, Nigeria has not had an elected president of the South East extraction. All other geographical zones have had their own fair share. This region has people, who if given the opportunity to become president, can turn the fortunes of the country around. Therefore, continued deprivation of the region the opportunity to produce president does not, in any way, show justice, equity and fair play.” On the just concluded Election in Anambra, the F
