Federal Gov’t Denies Bailing Peter Obi Out Of Detention In UK

  The Federal Government of Nigeria has denied news making the rounds that it intervened in the detention ordeal of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in London, United Kingdom last week. LEADERSHIP reports that Obi was briefly detained at Hearthrow Airport in London in a case of mistaken identity during his trip to celebrate Easter in the UK. A fake photo has gone viral on the social media on Thursday purportedly showing the executive chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, seated in an office with Obi and a UK law enforcement officer in order to secure the LP presidential candidate’s release from detention. Also, an aide of President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, also tweeted on Thursday, implying that the Federal Government intervened in Peter Obi’s ordeal to secure his release. Hon. Chika Emedo meets with ICAPS staff charges them to be committed to the 3R initiative

As staff and workers beckons on Governor Hope Uzodinma to look into proper funding and renovation of ICAPS.  The new SA to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State on ICAPS, Pastor Chika Emedo has charged the staff of the establishment to be committed to the 3R  initiative of the Governor, which is geared towards making Imo State a prosperous State. He made this call while interacting with the Staff of the Government Agency. Uzodimma to sponsor 1,000 pilgrims to holy lands

In his determination to deepen and strengthen the spiritual lives of Imo people,Gov Hope Uzodimma has approved the sponsorship of a record 1,000 pilgrims to the holy lands of Israel and Jordan this year. State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba disclosed this in a statement issued in Owerri yesterday. Hon Emelumba said the approval has already been given to the State Pilgrims' Board to commence screening of would be beneficiaries. According to him, forms have been sent to churches and other segments of the society for them to distribute to their  interested members. The commissioner announced that those nominated have up to April 15, this year to submit their completed forms to the Christian pilgrims' Board.
