MIKE EJEAGHA: AKUKO MIKE EJEAGHA: THE MAN AND HIS MUSIC.

Whenever an elderly Igbo person says to you AKUKO MIKE EJEAGHA, the truth is that your story is unbelievable to the person like folk story. The idiomatic expression, AKUKO MIKE EJEAGHA is coined from the evergreen music of a man called Mike Ejeagha whose first music is titled Akuko na Egwu ( Story and music). Mike Ejeagha (born August, 1932) is a Nigerian folklorist, songwriter, and musician. From Enugu State, Nigeria, Mike Ejeagha started his career in music in the mid-20th century. Also known as Gentlemen, Mike have been influential in the evolution of music in the Igbo language for over 6 decades. His first hit was in 1960 - the year of Nigeria's independence. Member Nnewi North State Constituency gifts home to 3 Childless widows.

The member representing Nnewi North state constituency, Hon. Nonso Okafor, yesterday gifted three widows a home in Nnewi, at an event attended by the Igwe of Nnewi Dr K.O.N Orizu and the speaker Anambra state house of assembly Mr Uchenna Okafor. Hon. Nonso Okafor stated that,he went on the journey to build the house for the women, because of the pains and suffering, these widows experienced over the years, due to the dilapidation of their house, which is not conducive for human habitation. He stressed that the project was a passionate one for him, going by the pathetic story of their living condition, and that one should do things for people, without expecting anything in return, he said. PMB appoints Ebonyi REC as NECO registrar

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Godswill Obioma as New Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council. Until his appointment as Registrar/CE of NECO, Prof. Obioma was the Ebonyi State Resident Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission. This was contained in a statement issued by the NECO Head, Information and Public Relations Division, Azeez Sani. M.A Adamu has directed that members of the force, reduce the harshness and conflict of interest being experienced all over the country as a result of regulation and enforcement of the dusk to dawn curfew by the federal government. The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, has resigned as Chairman of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development (SCDDD). Gambari’s resignation was made known in a statement Tuesday by the Executive Supervisor of the Centre, Amb. Abdullahi Omaki. According to him, Gambari was surrendering his appointment to avoid disputes of passion. The statement said it is a normal procedure considering the fact that Gambari is now holding a political position and he has taken step to avoid backlash from different channels in the country.
