I'LL LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED IN RECOVERING IMO STOLEN WEALTH

...EXPOSE ME IF FOUND WANTING, UZODIMMA Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, has reiterated that his administration will recover all stolen properties of Imolites without favoritism. He stated on Saturday during the Imo State Stakeholders meeting held at Eze Imo Palace Mbari, Owerri. "As I recover Imo properties converted to personal ownership by those who had political power back to Imo people, the same awaits me when I leave office". Upon assumption of office on January 14, 2020, Governor Hope Uzodimma availed to Imolites that his administration would focus on three Cardinal areas, Recovery, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation and this he had shown seriousness in *its* implementation. In the last couple of weeks,  recoveries have been made  on stolen lands, building and assets which hitherto were fraudulently converted to personal use by the past administrations. According to Governor Hope Uzodimma, no stone would be left unturned in recovering the looted wealth of I

GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA APPRECIATES IMOLITES, RELIGIOUS AND CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS FOR STANDING WITH THE GOVERNMENT IN THE FACE OF SECURITY CRISIS IN THE STATE

One thing that makes a leader outstanding is the show of appreciation no matter the circumstance and how little the services must have been. Gov. Hope Uzodimma like every other grateful individual has again extended his warmth and sincere appreciation to Imolites, religious and civil organizations as well as security agencies for their support and encouragement during the security crisis in the State. This is to show that the administration of Gov. Hope Uzodimma is divine and one that appeals to all and sundry. Hence, the show of solidarity in a time when the opposition could *have* had their field day but Imolites and other groups in the State proved that they are with the Sate Government all the way. Such show of concern is uncommon and can only be enjoyed by an administration that is well accepted by the people and this is why Gov. Hope Uzodimma could not hide his appreciation during the Imo Stakeholders meeting in Owerri, where he used the opportunity to make bare his mind and say

IMO STAKEHOLDERS OBSERVE A MINUTE SILENCE IN HONOR OF VICTIMS OF IMO SECURITY CRISIS.

Today at the ongoing Stakeholders meeting convened by Gov. Hope Uzodimma, a minute  silence in honour of victims of the insecurity crisis that rocked Imo State in the recent times was observed.  In emotion laden words, Gov. Hope Uzodimma expressed sympathy for the families of those who lost their loved ones during the carnage. "Some of the security operatives paid the supreme sacrifice in the process, some of our people also died in the course of achieving peace. I have already responded on your behalf to assist families to cushion the trauma to their deaths. Our prayer remains that God grants their souls eternal rest.  According to Gov. Hope Uzodimma, efforts are in top gear with concerned institutions to nip in the bud, any further occurrence of such dastardly acts and more so, bring to book criminal masterminds. #ImoStakeHoldersMeeting #HopeNewAndElectronicMediaCenter

GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA GIVES ACCOUNT OF HIS ADMINISTRATION

- Pledges To Work For The Greater Good Of Imolites  Accountability and transparency are the bedrock of every administration and leaders are expected to be accountable to those they lead and further make every process of their administration transparent as it will repose more trust in them. It is unfortunate that most administrations in the past could not live up to this expectation while some State Governments are finding it difficult to grasp with these realities. It is against this backdrop, that Gov. Hope Uzodimma has continued to stand out from the rest by ensuring that his administration is in the forefront of upholding the principles of accountability and transparency and no doubt his administration is appreciated by all. The Imo State Stakeholders meeting is another opportunity which Gov. Hope Uzodimma has keyed into to make open his administration successes and achievements in both human and capital developments in the State and leave the stakeholders as unbiased ju

Anambra: PDP Mobilizes Nigerians Over Seized Case File

…Says Court Judge's Deviltries Cannot Stop Valentine Ozigbo The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) invites Nigerians to call out Justice O.A Nwabunike of the Anambra state High Court, for, again refusing to release the case file as well as copies of his perverted judgment on the Sen. Ugochukwu Uba Vs PDP & Ors. The party describes as vexatious that, upon resumption of court activities today, Justice Nwabunike, remained adamant in withholding the documents, all in his desperate bid to frustrate and distract the PDP and its candidate, in the Anambra state governorship election, Valentine Ozigbo. The party asserts that the deviltries of the judge, in seizing the documents is aimed at frustrating the notices of appeal filed by the PDP and her candidate against his aberrant judgment, knowing that such black-market judgement cannot stand in appeal.  Our party cautions Justice Nwabunike not to continue to test the will of the generality of the people of Anambra, whose mandate, being expre

GM Heartland FC Commend Uzodinma for coming to their Rescue

General Manager Heartland FC, Promise Nwachukwu has showered encomiums on Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma following the payment of players’ salaries. After several months of endless wait, the Imo State government last week paid three months salaries (March, April and May) to Heartland FC players and backroom staff. In a swift reaction, Nwachukwu expressed delight that the effort of the Governor was already yielding result following their 2-1 victory over Enugu Rangers on Sunday while describing him as “a jinx breaker” with an uncommon passion for the club.   “I sincerely express my gratitude to the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma for paying three months salaries to the players and overwhelming passion he has shown for the club,” an elated Nwachukwu said. Heartland FC have been in dire strait for several months after leadership crisis in the team meant debt owed players and officials continued to accumulate with no recourse to when it would be p

Uzodinma emerges victorious again, as Abuja Court declines to sack Govenor, Deputy

A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a suit seeking to nullify the election of Hope Uzodinma and his Deputy Prof Placid Njoku and declare the governorship seat of Imo State vacant. Justice Taiwo Taiwo held on Monday, July 19, that the applicant, Mcfyne C. Chikwedu, had no locus standi, adding that the suit was “patently non-justiciable.” The judge noted that Uzodinma’s election had been affirmed by the Supreme Court and his court was not an election tribunal that could sit on appeal over elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He ordered Chikwedu to pay INEC N250,000 as costs “for bringing such a frivolous and meaningless suit to this court for adjudication.” INEC and the Attorney-General of The Federation (AGF) were the first and second defendants, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1085/2020. The judgment followed Chikwedu’s suit alleging the Governor did not meet the constitutional requirement to be declared winner of the March 9 gubernatorial

Anambra Guber: PDP Exposes Court Judge, Demands Release of Judgement

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alerts of plots by Justice O.A Nwabunike of the Anambra state High Court to derail the course of justice by making away with the case file on the Senator Ugochukwu UBA Vs PDP & Ors in a desperate bid to frustrate an appeal against his judgment on PDP Anambra state governorship primary election. The PDP charges O.A Nwabunike to immediately release the case file, as the compromises in the case are already known to the public, especially the people of Anambra state. The party stressets that the only reason Justice Nwabunike disappeared with the case file and refused to make copies of his judgment available to the PDP and its candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, is because he (Justice Nwabunike) is aware that his perverted judgement cannot stand in any appeal. The PDP recalls that on July 5, 2021, an aspirant, Senator Ugochukwu Uba, who did not participate in the PDP primary, instituted a suit against the PDP, our candidate, Valentine Ozigbo and the Independe

Don't enlist APGA, APC, PDP for Anambra guber, ADC tells INEC

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, has said it would be a great injustice to the Nigeria’s electoral process, if the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA; the All Progressive Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, participated in the forth coming Anambra governorship election. Nwosu, who stated this in a chat with Daily Sun yesterday in Awka, the Anambra State capital, noted that the afore mentioned political parties displayed gross indiscipline and leadership deficit in their processes of conducting primary elections of their different political parties; which, he argued made them unfit, in the eyes of the law, to participate in the process. “Everybody in Anambra and Nigeria are witness to what happened in Anambra as far as the primaries of APGA, APC and PDP are concerned. These three parties have shown gross indiscipline and leadership deficits, which manifested in the ways they conducted their party primaries

Ifeanyi Ubah: The Grassroots General

By Chigozie Igbo Jr I will want to start this piece with this quote from Mohammed Ibrahim a Sudanese-British billionaire businessman, who said,  "If we are to build grassroots respect for the institutions and processes that constitute democracy, the state must treat its citizens as real citizens rather than as subjects." Mo Ibrahim.  Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah ascribes to the above world view. Over the years, he has seen the People, his People, as real citizens rather than subjects, reason it's easy for him to mix up and interact with virtually all segments of the Anambra society.  I call him the *Grassroots General,* because he has shown capacity in that direction, having touched lives over the years with Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, an NGO of repute and his business ventures scattered all over Anambra and Nigeria respectively.  There is no gain saying the fact, that Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah remains the only candidate in Anambra contesting to become the next gove

Ndigbo United Peoples Assembly, NUPA, has called on its members and all eligible voters in Anambra State to turn out in their numbers to get their Permanent Voter’s Card, PVCs, in readiness for the Anambra governorship election coming up November 6. Speaking to newsmen after a ceremony organized by the leadership of the group, yesterday in Awka, the Anambra State capital, national leader of the group, Prince Bartho Igwedibia, called on all members of the Igbo Socio-cultural group to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise to get themselves registered, and get their voter’s cards ready. “This event is organized solely to tell our teeming members in all the 21 Local Government Areas and the 326 wards in the state, to turn out in their numbers to register and get their voter’s cards ready for the Anambra governorship election coming up November 6. “This is also wake-up call on all eligible voters in the state to ensure that they also register. Many people, who were not u

The Governor we deserve. A little background history of Senator Ubah will convince you.

By  Metu Franklin Chinedu. This piece offers a rare insight into the life of the Chairman, Capital Oil & Gas Ltd, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. It presents the restlessness and vision of someone, who from onset considered his humble background as a box that should not determine how far he would go in life. In discussing the big moments leading to his prominence in the society, Ubah believes certain defining decisions he made along the line could be useful for anyone.  He is from a humble background. It was very tough, but God in his infinite mercy favoured him and it has been great so far. Sometimes, Ifeanyi Ubah is highly misunderstood and people try to make the name look controversial. I thank God for his grace upon his life and I know that the blessings of God will get back to humanity. If someone who God has blessed forgets his people, God can take back the blessing. Senator Ubah is the son of a teacher. He was doing very well when he was growing up but at a point, he l

Lawan reveals why APC, PDP senators voted against e-transmission of Election Results

President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has given reasons why the position taken by the Senate on the electronic transmission of election results. The Senate on Thursday, while considering the Electoral Act 2010 Amendment Bill, voted that “The Commission(INEC) may consider electronic transmission of results, provided the national coverage is adjudged to be adequate and secure by the National Communications Commission (NCC) and approved by the National Assembly.” Lawan explained that the Upper Chamber voted the way it did in defence of about half of the Nigerian voters whose votes may not be counted with immediate deployment or application of electronic transmission of election results.   A statement on Sunday quoted the Senate President as saying this while responding to questions from journalists on the passage of the Electoral Act 2010 Amendment Bill, during a constituency visit to his Yobe North Senatorial District.   The statement titled, ‘Why we voted for e-tran
