GROUP CALLS OUT EMEKA IHEDIOHA, SAYS HE CANNOT RUN FROM JUSTICE .

A group known as IMO COALITION FOR JUSTICE, PEACE & TRUE DEMOCRACY, through its secretary Ahumareze Ikechukwu has called out the former governor Imo state over the alleged siphoning of funds from the State-Local Government Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC), under his watch . The group in a statement in Owerri said that, It has come to their attention the attitude of EMEKA IHEDIOHA in trying to delay and deny justice against the probe of his illegitimate administration of 8 months. They further stated that, Imo state government had approved the request of the Auditor General for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, to take all necessary steps to recover the sum of N19.63Billion siphoned from the State-Local Government Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC), through the Bureau for Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs (BLGCA), by the sacked government of Emeka Ihedioha, in just 8 months in office. “The staggering amount was siphoned for undisclosed purposes.&quo

EEDC SENDS INDEPENDENCE DAY GREETINGS TO ITS CUSTOMERS

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has used the occasion of the commemoration of Nigeria’s 62nd Independence Day to wish its customers and the entire Nigerians a happy celebration, assuring them of quality service and support during the public holiday period. The Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, who disclosed this on Friday reminded its customers that Nigeria is the only country we have, and that we all need to work together to make it a better place. He further appealed to those engaging in illegal activities that frustrate the efforts made by EEDC, such as energy theft, meter bypass, unauthorized access/connection to the grid, vandalism, etc, to desist from such unpatriotic acts. Ezeh assured customers of the company’s preparedness to attend to faults that may occur during the holiday period as operational teams will be on ground across the District Offices, for this purpose. Imo State Police Command Obtains Warrant Of Arrest of top Imo politicians for converting public property for personal use

The Imo state Police Conmand has obtained a warrant of arrest from a court of competent jurisdiction in the state to arrest Messrs Chief Kingsley Ufere, Chief Batos Nwadike, His Excellency Gerald Ịrona, Hon. Jones Onyereri and Chief Obinna Duruaku for converting government property in their possession to personal use. In different warrants of arrest obtained by the commissioner of police, Imo State Command sited by this reported, the state police chief said they should be arrested anywhere seen in the state or country. In the case of Chief Kingsley Ufere and Chief Batos Nwadike, the police commissioner accused them of converting "one (two) Toyota Hilux 2019 model, property of Imo State government to your personal use" while that of Hon. Jones Onyereri and Chief Obinna Duruaku were conversion of two Ford Rangers, properties of Imo State government to their personal uses and that of His Excellency Gerald Irona was for the possession and illegal conversation of one Land Cruiser

PDP crisis: Atiku moves to break Wike’s ranks, reaches out to allies

Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his team have perfected plans to break the ranks of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. Also, strong indications emerged that Governor Wike and those sympathetic to his cause may be settling for former Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, as a replacement for the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, if their plans scale through. Atiku and Wike have been engaged in a feud over the removal of Senator Ayu. Recall that the Rivers State governor has vowed not to quit the PDP over his feud with the former Vice President and Ayu, insisting that he would remain in the party and fight for relevance. Similarly, some of Wike’s allies including Governors Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo), had announced their withdrawal from the PDP Presidential Campaign Council pending the replacement of Ayu as chairman. EEDC NOTICE OF SYSTEM COLLAPSE, CUSTOMERS ASKED TO BE PATIENT.

  The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers of a system collapse which occurred  at 10:51am today, 26th September,2022. This has resulted to the loss of supply currently being experienced across the network. Due to this development, all our interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide service to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States. We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo.

PRESIDENCY APPROVES THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 10MEGA WATTS HYDRO POWER GENERATING PLANT AT OTAMIRI AND NWORIE RIVER.

Imo State is yet again enjoying dividends of Democracy from the Federal Government through the interventions of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma as the President has approved the construction of a 10Mwatts Hydropower Generating Plant at Otamiri and Nworie Rivers. Governor Hope Uzodimma disclosed this at the preliminary luncheon for the 62nd Independence Day Thanksgiving Mass, where he hosted Ndi Imo at the Government House Banquet Hall.  According to the Governor, the Hydro Power Generating plant at Otamiri and Nworie Rivers, is geared towards generating and supplying uninterruptible power supply within Owerri Metropolis and beyond.  The Governor added that with the recent approval for the dredging of Orashi River into the Atlantic Ocean, the Government has plans to float the Orashi Free Trade Zone for Oil and Gas.
