STARS ALIGN FOR CHIDI ONYEMELUKWE AS ANAMBRA PDP SEEKS TO AVERT POST-PRIMARY ELECTION CRISIS

Party faithful and indeed the general public conversant with the inner workings of the PDP in Anambra state are deeply worried that the party might again fracture or implode after its primary elections, as has been the bane of the party in the state. The inability of the party to manage its post–primary elections crisis has been pointed as the major contributor to the repeated failings of the party in Anambra gubernatorial elections. This danger is even more so with 16 aspirants jostling for the ticket of the party this time around. Of the 16, some are seen to be loyal and dedicated members of the party. Others are viewed differently. Some are even rumoured to be in consultations with other

IMOLITES, NOT UZODIMMA, AFTER OKOROCHA

As Imolites continue to react to the former governor Rochas Okorocha's recent frustration, induced misguided outburst on a national television, Channels TV to be precise, wherein he accused Governor Hope Uzodimma of being after him as well as envious of his political achievements, it became imperative to subject the said submissions of the Ogboko born senator to critical scrutiny as to find out whether or not his successor in office is actually after him for any personal political goal. Interestingly, the duo of Okorocha and his successor, Uzodimma, are not only from the same Imo West senatorial zone, but are senior stakeholders and members of the same political party, the All Progressives Congress, APC. As it is a norm in our present day political culture, former governor Okorocha,  to his opinion,   deserves all manner of executive protection from his fellow partyman to enable him enjoy the fruits of his labour with his family and cronies in peace, devoid any distractions. For Ok

JAMB: Senate seeks review of NIN policy

The Senate has urged the Federal Government to review implementation of the policy making it compulsory for the National Identity Number (NIN) to be a prerequisite for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).  Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had previously insisted that NIN must be for the 2021 UTME. Based on that development, candidates have lamented the insistence of JAMB on the policy saying NIN requirement was adding to their registration hurdles as they were forced to go through extortion, long queues, and other unwholesome practices to obtain NIN to register for their examination.   The Senate in it's resolution therefore, asked the Ministry of Education, JAMB, and National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to review the policy by extending the UTME registration deadline and NIN requirement until there is a seamless and well-organised process for obtaining NIN by candidates. The senate also called on the Federal Ministry of Education and

Why Must it be Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba PhD (HCN)

Nigeria's economic future is very bleak and if nothing drastic is done to address the mass youth unemployment, this Country will collapse within the next decade. Our population is exploding by the year, millions of young people leave colleges and universities every year and are emptied into a non existent job Market; yes indeed there is no job Market in Nigeria; none at all, yet we produce millions of Mid-level and High-level graduates every year. Can we pause a while and imagine what this Country will look like in the next fifteen years when oil will become almost useless?. The picture is not just grim but terrifying. Nigeria can no longer afford analog leadership when the world has long gone digital. In the last twenty years of this democratic Republic since 1999, we have remained on a roller coaster; under the same centripetal force that has kept us in circles without progress. There has never been a deliberate effort to recreate our economic base and move it from it's analo
