Nkwerre State Constituency Seat: House action constitutional, not personal - Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh

By Ikechukwu  Anyanwu  The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr Kennedy Ibeh, has clarified that the decision  of the House to declare the seat of Nkwerre State Constituency vacant  Is a constitutional responsibility rather than personal. The speaker made the clarification on Thursday,  during a press conference with House correspondents in his office.  He said that once a motion is brought to the House and seconded,  such motion is ripe for debate and the Speaker is bound by the law, rules and regulations of the House to listen to the debate on the floor of the house and  to put up such matters  for votes. He explained that it  is the duty of the Speaker during plenary to make it clear  to members that it is not enough to make allegations, as there are conditions upon which such powers can be exercised. Breaking News: Court strikes out 8 out of 15 charges against Nnamdi Kanu

  Justice Binta Nyako of the federal high court Abuja has struck out 8 of the 15 count charge brought by the federal government against the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu. Delivering ruling on the validity of the charge justice Binta held that  In the instant preliminary objection application,  counts  6,7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 have not disclosed any offense by the defendant , while Count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 15 shows some allegations. The trial of the defendant  shall proceed on the those count,. She noted that rendition for the purpose of criminal investigation is allowed. In the instant case, there is bench warrant on the defendant, suffice it say, he is a fugitive before the court. The court also held that the issue of proscription of IPOB, the case is still on appeal, the order proscribing the organization is still subsisting until it is vacated.

GOV. UZODIMMA REINSTATES 15 TRADITIONAL RULERS SACKED BY THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION.

His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has revived the hopes of 15 Communities as he reinstated their unduly sacked legitimate Ezes by the previous administration. IMO STATE GOVERNMENT REKINDLES HOPE FOR MISS BLESSING UMUNNAKWE AS SHE RECOVERS FROM THE STATE SPONSORED SURGERY

The family of Deacon Umunnakwe from Ihiagwa in Owerri West LGA of Imo State would forever be grateful to God for the successful surgery their Daughter, Miss Blessing Umunnakwe, underwent at Cairo in Egypt. IMHA-Defection: Nkwerre Seat declared vacant, Hon. Egwim recalled

  By Ifeanyi Onyekachi In compliance with section 109 of 1999 Constitution  as  amended ,  the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA),   has declared the seat of Nkwerre State Constituency vacant.  The decision followed a motion moved by member representing Ngor-Okpala State Constituency, Hon Blyden Amajirionwu, who at the floor of the House on Wednesday, moved a motion praying that the  Seat of Hon . Obinna Okwara, member representing Nkwerre State Constituency be declared vacant owing to his defection to PDP.  Hon. Blyden who copiously quoted section 109 of 1999 Constitution as amended, particularly subsection (1) and (2), said that any member who left the party that sponsored his election and moved to another party,  the Speaker shall declare such a seat vacant.  His motion was seconded by Rt.
