Police burst child stealing syndicate

Anambra police command On the Tuesday this week at about 10:45am,following intelligence report by Police detectives attached to CMU Anambra State Command arrested three female suspects at Nkpor market/Tarzan junction in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State. The Suspects were arrested with two kids all males whose age ranges between 2 and 4 years respectively. The suspects could not give satisfactory explanation about the children nor where they got them. The PPRO SP Haruna Mohammed said the Case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution. Consequently, it was gathered that the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang,fdc urged Parents whose children got missing and fall within the above age bracket to report at the PPRO office State Command headquarters Awka for proper identification and collect their children.

IHEDIOHA APPOINTS NEW HEAD OF SERVICE.

Governor Emeka Ihedioha CON, has approved the appointment of Dr. Chibuzor Iwuagwu as the Head of Service for the State Civil Service, this was made known in a press release signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Chibuike Onyeukwu. Dr. Iwuagwu replaces Barr. Alma Eluwa who has successfully completed her service and retired. The governor thanked Barr. Eluwa for her industry and patriotism, expressing hope that she will be recommended as the need arises for more tasks at the state and federal level. Dr Chibuzo Carmelius Iwuagwu, was appointed permanent secretary in 2013, he holds a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Nigeria. He also holds M. Onitsha Marine traders begin palliative work on market road

In their bid to avert death in Marine Modern market, Onitsha, Anambra state, sequel to the dilapidated state of some portions of marine road in the market, the traders, have commenced rehabilitation of the said portions. The chairman of the market, Chief Uzomili Onyeabo made this disclosure to newsmen in Onitsha,recalling how traders and their customers had on several ocassions escaped death by the whiskers because of the bad portions of the road. He said, "each time a vehicle passes through this marine road, on getting to the bad portion it will almost fall and that has been disturbing us. That is why we resolved to work on the road starting from the junction with Onitsha Main market. You can see we have spread the stones for other materials to follow. On October 14, 2019, the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, rtd Col Hameed Ali, told newsmen in Abuja that Nigeria had closed its land borders to all movement of goods, giving no timeline for re-opening them. Notorious kidnap suspect held in Imo

OPERATIVES of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Imo State have arrested a notorious kidnap suspect at Umuezu Ndegwu in Owerri West Council Area of the state. The suspect, Chima Okorie Uzoemenna was arrested in connection with the kidnap of an entertainer, one Izuchukwu Christopher Obiakor, in July 2018. The suspect and his gang members allegedly made away with the victim’s ash-coloured Toyota Highlander SUV after collecting ransom. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikeokwu Orlando in a statement on Monday said the suspect sustained severe head injuries during the operation which led to his arrest and was subsequently given treatment in a clinic. By Afe Babalola In recent times, there has been an increase in the arrest and arraignment of persons alleged to have published false and misleading information against public figures. The first of these was that of a blogger who was arrested, arraigned and subsequently remanded in prison in connection to a publication relating to a cleric. Since then there have been more of such incidents, including journalists of mainstream media outlets. Understandably, these arrests have attracted scrutiny from the public. While some have condemned what they see as highhandedness on the part of the complainants who in most cases are elected government officials, some have argued that the right to freedom of speech comes with a responsibility to keep within the law and that anyone who fails to keep within accepted boundaries must be subjected to the law.  However, most notably has been the perspective that the complainants should simply have filed civil actions against those they claim

APC seeks EFCC probe on alleged plan to sell Bayelsa oil field

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate an alleged plan by Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa to sell Atala Marginal Field (OML 46), an oil field owned by the state government. The surprise was certainly a pleasant one as they came to pay the tuition fees of the best performing Pupils in the school from Primary 1 to Primary 6. While interacting with Nigerian Notch the leader of the group Nelson Okeke said they were in the school to pay tution fee for Pupils who came tops in their various classes, a gesture he said was to encourage them to aspire higher in their pursuit of education.
