NNPC, CMEC, GE sign contract for 50MW Maiduguri emergency power project

A significant step towards redeeming the pledge by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to intervene in the perennial electric power supply challenge in Maiduguri, Borno State, was taken Tuesday with the execution of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Equipment Procurement contracts for a 50Megawatts (MW) Emergency Power Project in Maiduguri. The project which is an integral part of ongoing efforts to deepen the Corporation’s domestic gas utilization plan for the nation’s socio-economic growth has China Machinery Engineering Company (CMEC) as the EPC contractor while General Electric (GE) is the equipment manufacturer. Anambra 2021: APC appoints Uzodinma, Omo-Agege, 22 others to lead campaign

PRESIDENT BUHARI SIGNS PETROLEUM INDUSTRY BILL INTO LAW

  President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Petroleum Industry Bill 2021 into law. In a press release made available to newsmen by Femi Adesina the special adviser to the President on media stated that "Working from home in five days quarantine as required by the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 after returning from London on Friday August 13, the President assented to the Bill Monday August 16, in his determination to fulfill his constitutional duty.   The ceremonial part of the new legislation will be done on Wednesday, after the days of mandatory isolation would have been fulfilled.   The Petroleum Industry Act provides legal, governance, regulatory and fiscal framework for the Nigerian petroleum industry, the development of host communities, and related matters.   The Senate had passed the Bill on July 15, 2021, while the House of Representatives did same on July 16, thus ending a long wait since early 2000s, and notching another high for the Buhari administration.

Premier Breweries Plc staff pay courtsey visit to Ichie Nwabueze

The staff of Premier Breweries Plc lead by Ichie Nwachukwu Okonkwo the company's Financial Controller- on August 15, 2021, paid a courtsey call to Ichie Sir Izuchukwu Nwabueze. Speaking at the brief Ceremony, Ichie Nwachukwu Okonkwo said that the Staff of Premier Breweries Plc came to visit Sir Izuchukwu Nwabueze as a sign to show that he remains their friend and boss, as their Former Managing Director.
