Uzodimma however noted that progress could only be made in an atmosphere of peace. He noted that some opposition elements had sought to destabilize the state and arrest its progress, but expressed gratitude to God that they have been overwhelmed. He also expressed appreciation to all the patriotic citizens who

Was Nwosu actually kidnapped, Arrested or Karma paying a visit?

On the 26th day of December, 2021; Mr. Uche Nwosu, A former Chief of staff to Imo former Governor was picked up in his local Church. His followers disturbed the reading public with different narratives and story lines as it regards to the said picking up. Some said that he was kidnapped, others said that he was arrested but in a Gestapo style while the religious ones questioned why it must be in a Church but the bottom line is that he was picked up. To the overtly emotional followers, your principal was arrested after refusing to honor many invitations extended to him by the law enforcement agents a move that warranted him being trailed to his village and finally his place of worship.  I am not holding briefs for the state nor the Federal governments but I believe that the reading public deserves some truths and the records set aright. Ugwumba as he is fondly called must have had an unfinished business with the Law enforcement agents thus his invitation and subsequent arrest but as a

UCHE NWOSU'S ARREST AND ANAYO'S LOOSE TONGUE

■A CRIMINAL CAN BE ARRESTED ANYWHERE, ANYTIME* Global Association of concerned Imo youths (GACIY) has rejected the petulant, careless, deceitful, and seditious utterances of Sen. Ethelbert Okorocha over the arrest of his son-in-law, Mr. Uche Nwosu. Anayo Okorocha not only had the effrontery to wag his little finger at Ndi Imo just because security operatives whisked away his son in-law, he splashed sewage on the person of Governor Hope Uzodimma in the full glare of national TV cameras, having failed miserably to link the Governor to the intractable travails of his family. If only Anayo enjoyed good counsel, he would have been stopped the second such perverse foolishness began to drip from his lying lips. We know Anayo to be a circus clown but the reprehensible remarks that came from him this afternoon are beneath his stature as a former Governor and portray him as a haunted soul. Why else will Anayo confess in a press conference that his son-in-law was arrested by operatives from the F

Valentine Ozigbo, a Nigerian business mogul and philanthropist, has encouraged Nigerians and the people of Anambra State to show benevolence to the less fortunate in society.  Mr Ozigbo made the call on Saturday, December 25, 2021, in a Christmas message issued from his country home in Amesi, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.     Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, stated that Christmas symbolises the selfless, unconditional, and eternal love of Jesus Christ, which he encouraged everyone to emulate.   "As we mark this year's yuletide celebration, let us spread love, glad tidings, and happiness among one another," Ozigbo, one of Nigeria's most recognisable philanthropists, said.   "I also pray that this year's celebration brings blessings, fulfilled dreams and unlimited joy to you and your households.  Ozigbo further urged Nigerians to stay safe as they go about their Christmas celebrations, wi

Uzodimma: Christmas is period to spread love to neighbours

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has urged Christians to use the period  of Christmas to do some spiritual reflection on the reason for the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ rather than the notion that it is a time for merry making only. He also said those who reduce the Christmas period to just a mere time of merriment based on the mundane things of the world may not know how much they have relegated the essence which includes sharing of love to our neighbours. Governor Uzodimma spoke on Thursday at the 2021 Christmas Carol held at the Government House Chapel Owerri. In a statement by Governor Uzodimma's Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Oguwike Nwachuku on the ocassion of Christmas, the Governor urged Imo people and residents to use the season to spread love to their neighbours. APC SENDS FELICITATIONS TO IMOLITES ON CHRISTMAS:

- REJOICE, THERE IS HOPE FOR A PROSPEROUS IMO. The All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter ably led by Hon  Macdonald K. Ebere, PhD, KSJI, heartily felicitate with the resilient and enterpring people of Imo State on the occasion of the commemoration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The significance of the season teaches us the virtues of kindness, love, unity, peace, charity and sacrifice, which the life and times of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ epitomizes. As we reflect on the year 2021, we are not unmindful of the unimaginable health and security challenges that bedeviled our dear state in particular and the nation, Nigeria in general, which we have been to overcome through uncommon unity of purpose, love for one another and above all, the grace of God almighty. Our party celebrates the undying and unrelenting Imo spirit demonstrated by our people in the face of these unwarranted provocations, while remaining steadfast in your support to the APC led shared prospe

I ALMOST BELIEVED

2019 general election will forever remain fresh in the minds of Imolites, the year God surfaced and manifested himself as the alpha and Omega. An election that saw to the total liberation of Imo State from undue and unjust treatment from people meant to protect her. If there is one thing Imolites will always be grateful for, it's the fact that Rochas Okorocha didn't succeed in installing his son in-law as the Governor of Imo state.  When Hope Uzodimma became the governor 7 months after the election, I was scared seeing those that milked Imo dry all around him. I was very skeptical about the union, little did I know that Hope Uzodimma will never trade Imo state on the altar of temporal political friendship. One may be surprised about the political reunion of Emeka Ihedioha and Rochas okorocha, but am not. It's a reunion that can be best described as reunion of bitter losers. A reunion of one who feels that Sen. Hope Uzodimma took what's meant for him even after erroneous

Electoral Act: Senate makes a U-turn, Fails To Override President’s veto

Despite earlier threat, the Senate on Wednesday failed to override the President’s veto on the 2010 Electoral Act (amendments) Bill 2021. The red chamber made the u-turn when members emerged from a 40-minute closed session. The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, explained after the executive session that the upper chamber had decided to consult with members of the House of Representatives on the matter. He said since the House had gone on recess and the constitution prescribes that both chambers should take a joint decision on the matter, it would be proper for them to wait till January before any action could be taken. Lawan also said the Senate in the closed session agreed that members should consult with their constituencies who are critical stakeholders in the electoral process. The Senate had on Tuesday, adjourned plenary till today (Wednesday), to enable them to override the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on the 2010 Electoral Act (amendments) Bill 2021. Electoral Bill: Senators go into closed door

SENATORS have dissolved into a closed-door session to deliberate on the letter of President Muhammadu Buhari and take a position on the withholding of assent to the 2021 Electoral Act Amendment bill. Soon after the Senate resumed plenary Wednesday, the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan at 10.36 called for an Executive session. Apparently out to override President Buhari’s veto on the Electoral Act Amendment bill, the machines at the hallowed Chamber have already been tested to ascertain whether or not they are working and the board showed clearly that the machines are in good order. President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday written the Senate and the House of Representatives, withholding assent to the 2021 Electoral Act Amendment bill that was passed by the National Assembly. President Buhari in the letter withheld assent to the bill citing the imposition of Direct primaries as approved by the National Assembly, the National Assembly for picking candidates by political par
