The Nigerian Navy hosted the in Lagos on Wednesday in continuation of his three-day business and cultural tour of Nigeria. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Prince of Wales, who arrived the Naval Dockyard in Victoria Island at 1:46 p.m., was received by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Adm. Ibok-Ete Ibas. After being ceremonially received by the Naval chief, The Prince of Wales was taken on a tour around Lagos waters on the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) EKULU. The prince was piped on-board by the Commanding Officer NNS EKULU, Commander Andrew Zidon. Speaking with journalists after the departure of the prince, Ibas said that the visit was an encouragement for the navy. Mr Prosper Okafor, President, National Youths Summit on Peace and Security (NYSPS), on Wednesday urged Nigerian youths to resist all forms of violence capable of causing breach of the country’s peace and unity. Okafor told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that security and peace were key to economic and political stability. He urged youths to always put Nigeria ahead of their ambitions, saying that peace and security could not be realised without the youth. “We must promote peace, enhance security, national unity and integration using our strength. “Previous elections in Nigeria have been marred by all manners of violence and the need for its reversal cannot be overemphasised,’’ Okafor said. The group’s leader, who restated the imperatives of national unity, said that only reorientation and reintegration of youths could make it possible. Fox News said Monday it has stopped airing the controversial political ad paid for by President Donald Trump’s campaign, which likens members of the Central American migrant caravan to a man convicted of killing police officers in the U.S.  The Trump-friendly network’s decision comes after CNN made headlines on Saturday for refusing to air it and after NBC came under fire for running it during prime time on Sunday night.  “Upon further review, Fox News pulled the ad yesterday and it will not appear on either Fox News Channel or Fox Business Network,” ad sales president Marianne Gambelli said in a statement.  The 30-second spot includes footage of Luis Bracamontes , an undocumented immigrant from Mexico citizen sentenced to death in April for killing two police officers in California in 2014. The Senate plenary on Wednesday turned ‎rowdy when the Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi alleged that the Social Intervention Programme of the Federal Government, which was introduced by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has been politicised. Olujimi alleged that beneficiaries of the programme were being asked to provide details of their Permanent Voter Card in the application form. While presenting a copy of the form, she further alleged that ‘I Stand with Buhari’ was written on it. Before the Majority Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan, who defended the Buhari-led administration and the programme could speak, the chamber had become noisy as the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party exchanged words across the divide.
