Covid19: IMO STATE GOVERNMENT RELAX LOCKDOWN FOR APRIL 10

The governor of Imo state,H.E Sen Hope Uzodimma,has approved Friday April 10  for Imo people and residents to  shop for food items for the Easter celebrations. In a release signed by Hon Declan Emelumba Commissioner for information and strategy, and made available to this newspaper, stated that 10th of April 2020 relaxation of the Lockdown is to enable IMO indigenes shop for easter period. The release said that, this  means that the total lock down of the state will be temporarily relaxed on Friday (tomorrow) April 10, to enable Imo people and residents shop only for food items for the Easter celebrations.  Consequently food markets and food vending supermarkets will be allowed to open from 6am to 6pm tomorrow.  All concerned are advised to adhere strictly to the time allowed and ensure that they shop only for food items. Veteran Imo Broadcaster Doles out Palliatives

Veteran IMO Broadcaster,  Mr. Chimezie Ndukaku, has towed the line of IMO state government in cushioning the effects of the covid19 stay at home directives, to stop the spread of the virus. In a private post today on his WhatsApp handle, Mr. Chimezie Ndukaku said he has waived two months of house rent to the tenants in his house. Mr. Chimezie Ndukaku who anchored the popular program on radio (Eche na Madu wu Ewu) tasked other landlords in IMO state to follow suit, so as to reduce the sufferings the shut down has placed on Nigerians and Ndi IMO in particular. He said "to God be the  glory. I have granted 2 months free rent to the 5 Tenants of the 5 Flats in my house at the water logged Onwujiariri St,  Umuofor, Egbu (opposite Christina Hospital) ie March & April to help them cushion the effects of Covid-19 and also in the spirit of Easter." FG insists on Chinese doctors, says they will bring “scarce medical supplies

The 18-member team of Chinese experts will be arriving soon with “globally scarce supplies” in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). This is coming days after the  Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC)  rejected the invitation by the Federal Government of a Chinese medical team to help Nigeria in its coronavirus response. Court sentences Funke Akindele, husband to 14-day community service.

Ikeja – An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday Sentenced Nollywood star, Funke Akindele, and her husband, AbdulRasheed Bello, to 14 days community service each for violating social distancing regulation of Lagos State. The couple had admitted guilt before Chief Magistrate Yewande Aje-Afunwa during arraignment on Monday. Aje-Afunwa also imposed a fine of N100 on each of them and ordered that each of them should be isolation for 14 days. The chief magistrate had stood down the case after the couple pleaded guilty. She imposed the sentence when proceedings resumed more than an hour later. Aje-Afunwa while sentenc described their actions as reckless. “The defendants shall pay a fine of N100,000 within three days from today.
