IMO OPPOSITION AND THE BURDEN OF NEGATIVE POPULISM

BY: SAM OSUJI Very recently, the mainstream and new media have been awash with negative stories essentially targeted at tarnishing the image of Imo State Government.  What many do not know is that government is the people and not about any individual. When negative stories fly against the state, the individuals in the state are also adversely affected, warts and all. So anyone rubbishing the state with the misguided intent that the name of Dist. Sen Hope Uzodinma will be mired is only rolling in the ash of myopia.  Simply put, any negative news about Imo State is a negative for its citizenry and its heritage. And indeed, no negative news story, in a manner of speaking will reduce the personal or political clout of the governor. The governor, essentially, is only but an individual and not the state.  The opposition in Imo should indeed be wary of what they post and what news they make. An assault on the state in the name of junk journalism is clearly an assault on Imolites,

APC Can't Rig Anambra Election - Ifeanyi Ubah

Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has once again maintained that APC does not have the capacity to rig election in Anambra state. He sent a note of warning to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to desist from playing any game akin to what transpired in Imo State where Senator Hope Uzodinma, who finished fourth during the last governorship election, was declared winner. Senator Ifeanyi Ubah gave the warning during a media parley attended by representatives of various news media, both print and online. Speaking, he emphatically said: “APC wants to take Anambra by hook or crook,” adding that the party plans to repeat the “Supreme Court” scenario it played out in Imo State. Interestingly, Governor Uzodinma has been appointed the chairman of the Senator Andy Emmanuel Uba campaign organisation, the APC governorship election candidate. The chieftain stressed that the party did not conduct any primary election th

Imo N-PDP welcomes the ouster of Uche Secondus

......... Describes former National Chairman as the harbinger of one man stranglehold over PDP in Imo State The factional New PDP in Imo State has issued a statement welcoming the removal of Prince Uche Secondus as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.  In a statement made available to journalists in Imo State, the N-PDP stated that the ouster of Secondus will open the Imo State PDP to broader participation by the silent majority of members of the party who has been excluded from party affairs since after the governorship primaries of the party in 2018. Detailing the bias of Secondus in handling the affairs of the party in Imo State, the N-PDP posited that it was under the direction of the former chairman that Chief Osita Chidoka was sent to Imo State to mismanage the three man delegate election of the party which saw to the removal of the authentic delegates and their illegal and fraudulent substitution with a fake list from a known ally of Secondus who went on to win

IMO MARKETERS IMBROGLIO, SUNAZ OIL CLAIM --A FALSEHOOD

The Government of Imo State has observed with dismay that the claims of demolition made by Sunaz Oil Limited which led to Oil Marketers and Tanker Drivers embarking on strike action that caused the State a fortune was a total fabrication aimed at discrediting the Shared Prosperity Government in Imo State. A fact finding visit to SUNAZ Petrol Station in Orlu to assess the level of damage as claimed by the Proprietor shows that the Filling station was slightly touched at the perimeter fence as against the bogus claim by the Proprietor that the entire filling station was removed and he is unable to fend for his family, pay his bills, pay his employees and meet up with his daily needs where all lies and unfounded. The visit which was led by the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba accompanied by some journalists to ascertain the extent of damage that provoked the claim by Sunaz Oil was discovered to be false as the petrol station was still standing and opera
