IMOLITES CELEBRATES GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA AT 63

Yesterday, as the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma marked his 63rd birthday anniversary, imolites gathered in their numbers to join the family, friends and associates of the governor in celebration and thanksgiving to the Lord for his grace. The event which was meant to be a private one, saw troops of imolites into the government house in felicitation even as a thanksgiving service was held at the rear Admiral Ndubuisi kanu's square to thank God for the year 2021. The Imo thanksgiving 2021 which took place at the Capital City featured numerous religious leaders including the CAN president among others. FIRE INCIDENT DESTROYS CHRIS-TEE, & SILVER FUELING STATIONS NEAR BOROMIO ROUNDABOUT

Yesterday, 12 December 2021, a tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exploded at Chris-Tee filling station near Boromio roundabout, Onitsha causing harm and total damage to the gas station.  Men of the Fire Service and FRSC Rescue Team were seen on ground working very hard to curtail the inferno. The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye A Irelewuyi implored the public to be calm and patient, while the Fire Service battle the Fire and prevent it's escalation. Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off and traffic diverted, for ease of movement. According to an eye witness Report, the fire started at CHRISTEE Gas plant and spread over to the two other nearby Fuelling Stations (CHRISTEE and SILVER Fuelling Stations). The fire is still ongoing, but the Fire Service is on top of the situation working assiduously to put off the fire. However, the total damages and casualties are yet to be ascertained, as the fire is still burning.

EEDC CAUTION CUSTOMERS ON THE RISING RATE OF VANDALISM, ASSURES QUALITY SERVICE DURING THE YULETIDE

As the yuletide draws closer, the Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) has renewed its stride in sensitizing its customers on the need to be more vigilant during the season as activities of vandals is on the rise, a situation that if not checked will result to customers being subjected to darkness during the festive period. Recounting that over 20 vandals were apprehended within its network between the month of October and November, 2021. The warning was made by the Head of Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh while interacting with newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday, following the arrest of two suspected vandals on Friday by the vigilante team of Nri, in Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.   .....Vows to deal with corrupt officials  The sector commander of the FRSC in Anambra, Mr. Adeoye Irelepwuyi has hinted on the move to deploy surveillance cameras for effective patrol in the state. He made this known while addressing Newsmen at the command headquarters in Awka Anambra state.  He said when deployed the surveillance cameras will go a long way to protect their personnel and road users as well, as it will transmit real time to the command headquarters in Abuja.  In the same vein, the sector commander stated that the FRSC was  set up as an agency against corruption and stated that the arms of the law will deal decisively with any of it's personnel found culpable. IMO STATE GOVERNMENT RELEASES N114M COUNTERPART FUNDING FOR THE WALTERSMITH PETROMAN LTD PROJECTS ACROSS OIL PRODUCING COMMUNITIES

In fulfillment of an agreed memorandum, the Imo State Government through the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), has released the counterpart fund of N114million for the Projects by WATERSMITH PETROMAN LTD in some Oil Producing Communities of the State. Prior to the release, the critical Stakeholders from all the affected Communities held series of meetings where it was resolved that the Money should be channelled to other Projects that will help in alleviating the sufferings of the People since some other Oil Companies Operating in the areas have taken over the Electrification of the Communities. Part of the projects includes the provision of adequate security of lives and properties in the area and to this, security check posts, operational vehicles and other necessities to facilitate an improved security network in these areas.
