Insist Ekwo's arrogation of jurisdiction to his court was in error  The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate in the November 6 Anambra governoship election, Senator Andy Uba, have formally filed 8 grounds of appeal against the judgement of an Abuja Federal High Court delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo to the effect that APC had no candidate in the November 6 election.* The appeal filed on 21st December 2021 was predicated on 8 grounds; principal of which was that Justice Ekwo erred in his verdict on APC primary and Andy Uba as the candidate of the party. One of the 8 grounds of appeal dwelt on the issue of lack of territorial jurisdiction by Justice Ekwo’s division of the High Court. There is enough evidence for the appeal to succeed as Justice Ekwo should not have proceeded with the matter in the first place since his court lacked territorial jurisdiction to entertain the matter

The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of  two Assistant Inspectors-General of Police to the next rank of Deputy Inspectors-General; it also approved the promotion of six Commissioners of Police to Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and the elevation of seventeen Deputy Commissioners of Police to Commissioners of Police. The Commission also approved the promotion of twenty four Assistant Commissioners of Police to the next rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police; forty nine Chief Superintendents of Police to the rank of Assistant Commissioners. It also endorsed the elevation of seventy four Superintendents of Police to Chief Superintendents and eight hundred and sixty six Deputy Superintendents of Police to Superintendents. Imo State government through one of her agencies Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA, launched  "Operation reclaim the streets of Owerri Capital Territory from shanties", on Tuesday. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced its resolve to set up budget and other committees ahead of its February national convention. Addressing newsmen at the end of a meeting that the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the party held at the APC National Secretariat on Monday in Abuja, Secretary of the Committee, Sen Akpanudoedehe, said the committee also reviewed its activities in the last one year.   The top echelon of the APC had recently met with President Muhammadu at the State House in Abuja, where it was resolved that the party’s convention would be held in February, but no specific date was agreed upon.
