Akpabio, Eno At Petroleum Minister's Son's Wedding In Abuja

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on Saturday, attended the wedding reception of Victor Ekpo, son of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources(Gas), Hon Ekperikpe Ekpo and his bride, Olayemi.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, was also in attendance along his Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, some Lawmakers, Ministers, top government officials and stakeholders in the oil industry among others.

The reception which was chaired by Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, took place at the Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja. The church service held earlier in the day at Catholic Church of the Arch Angels, Gaduwa, Abuja.

Speaking at the event, the Senate President advised the new couple to approach their union from a philosophical point of view, to overcome challenges of life.

He told the couple: "Marriage is not a bed of roses. You will have challenges even from day One. Even brothers and sisters do have disagreement. But I want you to bear something in mind: Approach your marriage from a philosophical point of view. That since you cannot say my former father. My former mother. Don't ever hope to say my former wife, or my former husband.

"If you have that in mind, every disagreement that you have, you will settle it knowing that you are now tied in blood and that you have made a vow before God to live together, for good or for bad, for the rest of your life. Once you have that in mind, every other thing will be settled."
