Soludo Throws Weight Behind APGA's In-Road Into Abia State

Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, is the first registered progressive party in the country whose mission is to promote true federalism in the Country. The Governor was speaking when the candidate of the party in Abia State, Prof. Greg Ibeh, paid him a consultative visit, following the successful conclusion of the primary election of the party. According to Prof. Soludo, the election of the Presidency has grown beyond being a social media thing, saying that it is time for Ndi Igbo to calibrate their approach because  election will only be won by forming methodical, systematic, concrete networks and alliances. BUHARI NAMES UZODIMMA, OTHERS COUNCIL MEMBERS OF E-GOVERNMENT

President Muhammadu Buhari Friday appointed the Imo State Givernor, Senator Hope Uzodinma into the presidential Council on E-Government and Digital Economy. Uzodinma along with 26 other Nigerians will henceforth fashion out ways in which digital technologies will be employed to transform every sector of the country's economy. At the inauguration of the Council, President Buhari said the choice of Uzodinma and others was arrived at after "a painstaking and thorough process." He told Uzodinma to ensure that he works hard to justify the confidence the nation has reposed on him. MAN ARRESTED FOR VANDALISING EEDC TRANSFORMER

A suspected vandal identified as Solomon Igwe, was arrested over the weekend by Security Guards operating at Thinkers Corner area of Enugu, Enugu State, for vandalizing a transformer, property of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC). The suspect, in company of two of his gang members who are currently at large, vandalized the Thinkers Guest House transformer located at Thinkers Corner, Enugu, and drained the transformer oil. Their tools and jerricans were recovered at the scene. Solomon gave the names of his fleeing gang members as Sunday and Onyema, while he named one Onyedia Obasi, alias Bishop, as their master. The Head of Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, who made this known on Wednesday, in Enugu, confirmed that the apprehended suspect has been handed over to the Police Area Command, Enugu, for further investigation and possible prosecution, while the fleeing gang members are being trailed by the Police.   Governor Hope Uzodimma has condemned the Sunday invasion of St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State by a group of terrorists, which claimed the life of many worshippers and others wounded. Governor Uzodimma commiserated with the Government and good people of Ondo State as well as the families of the victims and urged all to work in partnership with security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the dastard act for justice.
