Umedi meets with Leaders of ASATU Anambra Central


...... promises continued youth empowerment


The senatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the 2023 general election, Dr Chinedu Umeadi, has meet with leaders of Anambra State Association of Town Union leaders. The meeting which was held on the 31st of May 2022 was based on the invitation by the association to interact with the candidate of Young Progressives Party, for Anambra Central Senatorial District election coming up next year. 


In his keynote address at the event, Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi thanked leaders of the town unions in the 7 LGAs of Anambra Central Senatorial District for finding out time to be with him, as well as rob minds on the way forward towards achieving better representation at the red chamber in Abuja. Dr Umeadi however vowed to continue his various youth empowerment intervention programmes as a means of fighting poverty and restiveness in his constituency.


He therefore urged Anambra residents, especially those from his constituency to obtain their permanent voters cards and vote for candidates of the YPP in the 2023 general election as the YPP would guarantee the dividends of democracy for the people through quality representation at all levels. 


He therefore informed the community leaders of his ambition to represent them at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly in Abuja, which is basically to ensure that the dividends of democracy gets to the people who actually need it at the grassroots. He stressed that his party the YPP is grassroots oriented and will do everything to ensure that the youths are carried along in all his programmes. 


Dr Umeadi however stressed that his Foundation had initiated various community and youth development programmes, aimed at equipping the youths with the right skills and empowerment for economic sustainability and entrepreneurship even before he thought about the idea of contesting for an elective position. 


Continuing he decried an apparent apathy by the youths on issues of skills acquisition in preference for white-collar jobs.


He said, “My representation as your senator, would provide a more needed enabling environment to the youths to explore and maximise their potential so as to add value to society.


In their response the town union leaders expressed their joy to have him in their midst. They said it was a thing of respect that he honored their invitation, and commended him for taken the bull by the horn to contest for the Senate seat. They welcomed the development and prayed that his project will be blessed by God, as only God enthrones leaders.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to  The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation.   Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA.   2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body. The cultists then filmed him. Another source, Obi, said he saw no less than 15 vehicles and an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) during the operation.
