President Bola Tinubu has stated the national minimum wage requires a review to reflect realities, emphasising that the improved livelihood for Nigerians remains a top priority of his administration. The President, who received members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) led by the Chairman, Hope Uzodinma of Imo State at the State House, said the national and sub-national governments will work on the minimum wage, which already requires “soul searching.’’ According to a statement by the Director of Information in the State House, Mr Abiodun Oladunjoye, Tinubu also said his administration would be working on more people-focused economic policies. “We need to do some arithmetic and soul searching on the minimum wage. The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers across the South East that the loss of supply in some areas within its network is due to the rainstorm which occured yesterday evening and early hours of today. This resulted in faults, occassioned by fallen trees and high rate of broken High and Low Tension poles, causing supply disruption to our 11KV and 33KV feeders across the business districts.    Our various technical/maintenance teams have since commenced patrol of the network to evaluate the extent of damage and treat faults where they are minimal. We regret the inconveniences these have caused our esteemed customers and appeal for their patience and understanding while these challenges are addressed. Newly sworn in Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, on Monday, in Abuja, said he will extend the courtesy worthy of a fellow compatriot to his opponents in the February 25 election that brought him to power. He also argued that Nigeria had not had a better election than the recently concluded one in its history. “My victory does not render me more Nigerian than the rest of you. It also does not render my opponents less Nigerian than me.
