MASSOB/BIM warns of Impending Shutting of Commercial Activities in Anambra Calls on Governor Willie Obiano to intervene

The leadership of MASSOB in Anambra state has called on the government of Anambra state, lead by Chief Wille Obiano to direct Justice Otti,of Ogidi  High court to henceforth release their members who have been held in detention without trial for the last 4 years. Chief Arinze Igbani made this call recently at Ekwulobia, where he led other MASSOB members to a protest march, which was peaceful to ensure that their members who has been held captive without trail in various prisons in the state are released. Presidential Delegation visits Ozubulu Sunday attack victims at NAUTH Nnewi and Oba Trauma Center.

A Presidential delegation comprising Minister of Health Prof. Isaac Adowole, Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige,Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Godfrey Onyema, Minister of State for Environment,Ibrahim Usman and Minister of State for Education Prof Anthony Anwuka yesterday visited victims of attack at St Philips Catholic Church Ozubulu, Anambra State. The delegation led by Senator Ngige disclosed that theFederal Government has directed that any victim that cannot be treated at theNnamdi AzikiweUniversity Hospital Nnewi should be flown to oversee for treatment at the Federal Governments expense. Ifeanyi Ubah’s detention: Nnewi Sports Club Protest continued detention

More protests have continued to greet the continued incarceration of the chairman of the Capital Oil and Gas Industries Ltd, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, who has been in the detention cell of the Department of State Services (DSS) since May 6. Some of the protesting groups insist that the refusal of the DSS to release Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, even at the instance of competent court is a threat to the country’s nascent democracy and a breach of the fundamental human right as enshrined in the constitution of the federation of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.           The groups were of the opinion that since what the capital oil boss is being accused of is a bailable offence, the body should release him and give room for negotiation, or rather charge him to court.           One of the groups under the aegis of Nnewi Sports Club, which protested the detention of Ifeanyi Ubah on Friday at Nnewi, tasked the DSS to do the needful and release Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah as ordered by the Lagos High Court pre
