Presidential Delegation visits Ozubulu Sunday attack victims at NAUTH Nnewi and Oba Trauma Center.

A Presidential delegation comprising Minister of Health Prof. Isaac Adowole, Minister of Labour and
Employment, Senator Chris Ngige,Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Godfrey Onyema, Minister of
State for Environment,Ibrahim Usman and Minister of State for Education Prof Anthony Anwuka yesterday visited victims of attack at St Philips Catholic Church Ozubulu, Anambra State.
The delegation led by Senator Ngige disclosed that theFederal Government has directed that any victim that cannot be treated at theNnamdi AzikiweUniversity Hospital Nnewi should be flown to
oversee for treatment at the Federal Governments expense. The Chief Medical Director, CMD, of
NAUTH Prof.Anthony Igwegbe who took the delegation round the wards where the victims were admitted for treatment said that six of the victims are at the Orthopedic Trauma Centerof the hospital located
at Oba, Idemili South Local Government of the state.He also took them to Oba Orthopedic Trauma Center of NAUTH. While seven of the victims have been treated and discharged,while some of the victims admitted at the Intensive Care Unit, ICU of the hospital have been relocate to regular ward. Addressing the
victims Senator Ngige said the delegation was sent by the Federal Government to commiserate with them, and also tell them that anyone whose case is beyond the hospital handling, should be taken to overseas for further treatment. “Our mandate is to take abroad those who cannot be treated here, it could have been worst if this hospital is not located here, we thank the CMD, the doctors, nurses and other hospital workers who have been working round the clock to save the lives of victims. “The President who is on medical
vacation specifically asked us to commiserate with the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev.
Hilary Okeke, who is the Chief Sheppard of the victims” The Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr
Nkem Okeke who represented Governor Willie Obiano told the delegation that last Sunday was a sad day
for the people of the state, adding that when the incident happened,there was speculation that the
Boko Haram insurgents and Fulani herdsmen have struck, but the Governor promptly cleared the air after visiting the scene of the incident. 

He said that the Police and the Department of State Services,DSS, are still investigating the incident to unravel the attackers, and assured that the state is still a secured state, adding that
security of the people and their property is still uppermost in the mind of the Governor, adding that the state Government will foot the bills for the treatment of the victims.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to  The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation.   Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA.   2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body. The cultists then filmed him. Another source, Obi, said he saw no less than 15 vehicles and an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) during the operation.
