SPEECH DELIVERED BY THE GOVERNOR-ELECT OF IMO STATE, RT. HON EMEKA IHEDIOHA, AT THE INAUGURATION OF THE TRANSITION COMMITTEE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, 3RD APRIL, 2019

PROTOCOLS. Mr Chairman, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, let me first give the glory of today to our Lord Jesus Christ as I welcome you to the inauguration of this very important committee. On 9th March this year, the people of Imo State voted overwhelmingly for us because they believe that we can give them good leadership. And with the elections over, the business of governance has to commence. Our people are eager, expectant and seem assured that we will be true to our words. I find this enthusiasm humbling and at the same time challenging. Your Excellencies, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, in the course of the campaign, we promised good governance while stimulating development in all sectors and across all the zones of our dear state. Having recognised that we cannot deliver on that promise without leveraging on the experiences, and expertise of the broadest possible diversity of Imo people, we are here today to inaugurate the transition committee that will help us

Governor Okorocha Pays President Buhari Courtesy Visit At The State House

The embattled governor of Imo state Owelle Rochas Okorocha , today President Buhari an official visit to felicitate with him on his re election for a second term in office . Nigerian Notch source at the presidency however  gathered that the governor's visit was not unconnected with the ongoing issues with his electoral mandate and speculations that EFCC will swoop on him soon. Anambra Police Command arrest most wanted Criminal

Anambra Police Command have arrested a notorious  kingpin, Mr Ikechukwu Udensi AKA Ikanda was declared wanted last year for killing a trader, Mr Ndubuisi Nwokolo in Onitsha. Ikanda, who is a known notorious criminal and gang lord, around Onitsha axis and environs last year murdered a 38-year-old businessman in broad daylight, for attempting to rescue a commercial motorcyclist conveying him from being extorted by Ikanda and his boys. A N1 million tag was put on his head by Anambra State government for anyone who can provide information that would lead to his arrest, as he was said to be powerful and also works for several big politicians in the state who always effect his release, each time he was arrested. Commissioner of Police  Anambra State, Mr Mustapha Dandaura who paraded Ikanda before journalists said he was arrested on Sunday in Onitsha, following a tip-off, to collect proceeds of illegal toll collection from his men. Nwogwu Christian emerge winner, Nnewi/Onitsha Brothers Union Chairman

Nwogu Christian Nwankwo,(Okiri Too Much) has emerged  winner of the keenly contested election of Nnewi/Onitsha brothers Union, the major transport union plying the Nnewi/Onitsha route axis in Anambra state. He defeated his closest rival with 193 votes to 58 votes. The election which took place at Ichi yesterday came with many interest's but the major interest was to elect a chairman who will represent the interest of the majority, reason why all drivers on that route came out in their numbers to perform their constitutional rights as members of the Union. The election by all standards was free, fair and credible as the process was transparent, which even made losers to congratulate winners. Onitsha Police Area Command Arrest Over 80 Suspected Criminals... Commercial Town Loses N1.5b- HURIJE

The Onitsha Police Area Command in a bid to  eliminate criminal elements intimidating and extorting people in Onitsha, the Anambra State commercial nerve centre have arrested over 80 hoodlums in the commercial town. The the clamp down on the hoodlums, said  a competent Police source commenced a fortnight ago and was being led by the Onitsha Area Command,Mr. John Obuagbaka, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). The arrests, according to our source, has shown the effort of the Area Commander to sanitize Onitsha of hoodlums who have vowed to make the  commercial city uncomfortable for the residents and visitors. As s result of this effort, the leadership of Human Rights, Liberty Access and Defenders Foundation (HURIJE) led by its Chairman, Dede Uzor A.Uzor, had  commended the Area Commander and encouraged him not to relent in the war against thuggery and intimidation by hoodlums who have  vowed to make  Onitsha residents and their customers not to sleep with their two eyes close
