OKIGWE NORTH 2023: GROUP MOUNT PRESSURE ON HON. PRINCESS MIRIAM ONUOHA TO DECLARE

A socio-political grassroot movement, domiciled in the 33 wards of Okigwe North, known as Okigwe North Progressive  Movement (ONPM) has called on the Hon. Member Representing Okigwe/Isiala Mbano/Onuimo (Okigwe North) Federal Constituency to declare and re-contest  for the House of Representatives Seat which she occupies  presently.  This clarion call for the Lawmaker to declare and re-contest in 2023 was made at Bonafide Hotel  Okigwe during the bi-monthly meeting of the Organization. AMBASSADOR CHARLES NWONYE ATTENDS NNEWI REGIONAL CATHEDRATICUM/ CRESIM MASS

  Today, Wednesday 13th April, His Lordship Most Rev Jonas Benson Okoye, and all Nnewi regional priests celebrated the CATHEDRATICUM/CRESIM MASS by 10am At St. John of the Cross,  Egbo, Uruagu Nnewi. Amb Charles Nwonye, a Christian, with accountability and service records to his name, was visibly present, with the other parishioners of St Philips Catholic Parish, Okpunoeze, Uruagu to celebrate the mass. As required and the aim of the mass, to continue to propagate the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ on earth, with him knowing that God loves a cheerful giver, he presented a cow, and also joined his parish to present 20 cows to the bishop.  Dignitaries that attended the mass include Sir Josiah Enuma, Mr Obi Dennis, Sir Boniface Onwuka from St John the Apostle and others. Sir Eloka Ikeh meets PDP Nnewi North LGA executives.

Declares intent to represent Nnewi North with a difference.  Sir Eloka Ikeh, a PDP House of Assembly Aspirant, for Nnewi North, yesterday payed a courtesy visit to the local government area executive of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Nnewi North chapter. The visit to party executives was to intimate them and equally interact with them on his desire to contest for Nnewi North house of assembly seat. He however used the visit to declare his intention to fly the Party's (PDP) flag at the Anambra State house of assembly election in 2023. Sir Eloka Ikeh Sponsors Empowerment Scheme, for Nnewi Youth Forum ladies Wing

Sir Engr Eloka Ikeh, a frontline PDP politician, and Nnewi North LGA hopeful for Anambra state house of assembly aspirant under the people's democratic party PDP,  has sponsored an empowerment scheme for the ladies wing of Nnewi Youth Forum.  The empowerment scheme which started on the 10th of April 2022 is a two days program aimed at empowering young ladies to self reliant.  The empowerment program revolves round the production of liquid soap, tablet soap, hair dressing, baking and pastries, sewing, bead making etc. The two day program is billed to end on the 12th of April 2022.  The Coordinator of the program comrade Amaka Orizu thanked Sir Engr Eloka Ikeh for his magnanimity towards organizing such empowerment scheme for the ladies of Nnewi Youth Forum and promised that they will do there best to ensure that the resources provided for the scheme is made use of adequately.  While interacting with newsmen, Sir Engr Eloka Ikeh said that he places so much importance in the developme

Nkwerre State Constituency Seat: House action constitutional, not personal - Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh

By Ikechukwu  Anyanwu  The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr Kennedy Ibeh, has clarified that the decision  of the House to declare the seat of Nkwerre State Constituency vacant  Is a constitutional responsibility rather than personal. The speaker made the clarification on Thursday,  during a press conference with House correspondents in his office.  He said that once a motion is brought to the House and seconded,  such motion is ripe for debate and the Speaker is bound by the law, rules and regulations of the House to listen to the debate on the floor of the house and  to put up such matters  for votes. He explained that it  is the duty of the Speaker during plenary to make it clear  to members that it is not enough to make allegations, as there are conditions upon which such powers can be exercised. Breaking News: Court strikes out 8 out of 15 charges against Nnamdi Kanu

  Justice Binta Nyako of the federal high court Abuja has struck out 8 of the 15 count charge brought by the federal government against the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu. Delivering ruling on the validity of the charge justice Binta held that  In the instant preliminary objection application,  counts  6,7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 have not disclosed any offense by the defendant , while Count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 15 shows some allegations. The trial of the defendant  shall proceed on the those count,. She noted that rendition for the purpose of criminal investigation is allowed. In the instant case, there is bench warrant on the defendant, suffice it say, he is a fugitive before the court. The court also held that the issue of proscription of IPOB, the case is still on appeal, the order proscribing the organization is still subsisting until it is vacated.

GOV. UZODIMMA REINSTATES 15 TRADITIONAL RULERS SACKED BY THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION.

His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has revived the hopes of 15 Communities as he reinstated their unduly sacked legitimate Ezes by the previous administration. The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma in his address said that no government has any right to sack any traditional ruler appointed or elected by his own people, stressed that “The duty of the Government is to approve traditional leaderships appointed by the people and has no power to disapprove or sack legitimate traditional rulers “.
