Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security agencies over the successful conduct of the off-season elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States. The group made the commendation in a statement by its National President, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike on Tuesday.  Okwu said contrary to predictions by bookmakers, security agencies were able to provide adequate security before and during the elections.  According to him, “the feeling all over the country was that it was going to be a theatre of blood in the three states. Many people believed that blood would flow freely during the elections.  “However, security agencies were up to their responsibilities, such that no life was lost but for the unfortunate incident during the collation of results in Brass, Bayelsa State. Nigeria's Minister for Trade Industry and Investment Dr Doris Uzoka has outlined numerous areas the Government of Saudi Arabia pledged to invest in revamping the country's refineries and reforming the Central Bank of Nigeria. She stated this in Riyadh Saudi Arabia at the end of the two day bilateral meeting  chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has again appealed to the Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate in Enugu State, Barr Chijioke Edeoga to end further litigation over the outcome of the 2023 election.  The group made the appeal while reacting to the Appeal Court judgement which upheld the election of Governor Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Chief Joe Mohale a frontline politician in Nnaka has been shot by unknown gunmen. He was the YPP Chairman, Nanka Ward 1. He was killed by political thugs last night after organizing a meeting between the member representing Orumba North and South in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Princess Chinwe Nnabuife and her Nanka constituents. It was gathered that Hon Nnebiife was warned not to step into Nanka for the rerun election in some polling units in the community. She was however threatened not to campaign in Nanka where the Appeal Court ordered for a rerun election. Joint security operatives have intercepted one Hon. Okafor Gabriel in possession of election materials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.   The commander of the joint force Insp. Ahmed Idris, said that the arrests were made following some intelligent tip-off. He stated that the arrest would serve as a stern warning that the security operatives meant business and would not hesitate to bring any culprit to book. The suspect, Mr. Hon. Okafor Gabriel, was caught with possession of the INEC Permanent Voter Cards, ballot papers as well as total sum of 183million naira. He was arrested around Anara in isiala mbano Local Government of Imo State. The suspect admitted that the materials were given to him on Friday night by a party member. President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has harped on the need for legislative exchange programs between the Republic of Ireland and Nigeria.
