Police rescue 26 captives from bandits in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has said it rescued 26 additional kidnap victims from bandits in the state. The Commissioner of Police Zamfara Command, Usman Nagogo, made this known while handing over the victims to the state government in Gusau, the state capital on Tuesday. Mr Nagogo said the victims were released by the bandits through a peace dialogue initiated by the state government. He said 18 of the victims were released by the bandits in Aljimma village in Maradun Local Government Area, while eight were handed over to the Emir of Zurmi, Abubakar Atiku, by the bandits. “I am just from Aljimma village where I received these victims personally from the bandits. “On my way, the Emir of Zurmi, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, called and told me that there were other captives released by the bandits to him from Niger Republic. “As I always say, since the use of force has not achieved peace in the state, dialogue is the only option to address this,” he said. “With this developm

The second, which is intertwined with the first, is that it was a refreshing departure from what the good people of Imo state had become used to for eight years. The Commissioner of Police Zamfara command has tasked journalists to be factual in all their reports about the activities going on in the state. He made the call today at Gusau while giving update on the progress report by the command on activities in the state in the recent past. The CP started by thanking the Inspector-General of Police IGP Muhammad A. COMMISSIONER OF POLICE ZAMFARA, BROKERS PEACE IN BIRNIN MAGAJI EMIRATE

Imo State governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha, has stated the determination of his administration to make the state the cleanest in the federation. The governor who spoke at the government house, Owerri, on Wednesday, during the inauguration of the Planning, Sensitization and Implementation Committee for the July, 2019 clean-up exercise, said the health of the state's citizens was threatened by unhealthy environment. He said that between 2008 and 2011, the state was adjudged the cleanest in the country by the federal ministry of environment. Ihiala Traditional Ruler Receives Uzoakwa Community in Style ...as Nze Uchenna Nsofor Becomes Ezealadike

The traditional ruler of Ihiala in Ihiala LGA of Anambra state HRH Igwe Sir Thomas Ikenna Obidiegwu(Oluoha XVII) last Monday  received  Uzoakwa community, Ihiala, ably led by the Chairman of Nze na Ozo  of Uzoakwa,Hon.Osy Obijekwe. Uzokwa is made up of 10 clans with each headed by a village head.  While receiving  Uzoakwa delegation , the traditional ruler of Ihiala who was recently given certificate of recognition by the Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano, thanked God for making it possible for him to ascend the throne, a feat that would have been impossible without the people of Uzoakwa community.  He stressed that Uzoakwa community in Ihiala plays a pivotal role in every project of Ihiala and promised to carry them along in a the activities of his reign.  He sued for lasting peace in the community, stressing that he has opened his doors for reconciliation of any aggrieved member of the Ihiala, who was not pleased with the turn out of events in the community.

The immediate past Chairman of Nnewi Butchers Association,Chief Amobi Nnoruka (Ogbuefi Okwuanasoanya) has officially handed over to the newly elected officials of the association, now led by Chief Uchenna Okafor.
