Ihiala Traditional Ruler Receives Uzoakwa Community in Style ...as Nze Uchenna Nsofor Becomes Ezealadike


The traditional ruler of Ihiala in Ihiala LGA of Anambra state HRH Igwe Sir Thomas Ikenna Obidiegwu(Oluoha XVII) last Monday  received  Uzoakwa community, Ihiala, ably led by the Chairman of Nze na Ozo  of Uzoakwa,Hon.Osy Obijekwe. Uzokwa is made up of 10 clans with each headed by a village head. 

While receiving  Uzoakwa delegation , the traditional ruler of Ihiala who was recently given certificate of recognition by the Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano, thanked God for making it possible for him to ascend the throne, a feat that would have been impossible without the people of Uzoakwa community. 

He stressed that Uzoakwa community in Ihiala plays a pivotal role in every project of Ihiala and promised to carry them along in a the activities of his reign. 

He sued for lasting peace in the community, stressing that he has opened his doors for reconciliation of any aggrieved member of the Ihiala, who was not pleased with the turn out of events in the community.

Adding his voice, the Onowu of Ihiala , Rtd Colonel Linus I Ohanaehi (Ochiagha) thanked the people of Uzoakwa on the role they played in making sure that peace returned to Ihiala and joined the traditional ruler to emphasize that they will be carried along in the scheme of things in the community.

While presenting  Ezealadike Uchenna Nsofor to Igwe Sir Thomas Ikenna Obidiegwu, Hon Osy Obijekwu, said they came to the palace of their traditional ruler to familiarize themselves with the new traditional ruler and formerly present Nze Uchenna Nsofor as the Ezealadike of Uzokwa.

He promised Uzokwa will continue to play their roles in Ihiala and ensure support for the peace, progress and smooth  reign of the traditional ruler, so as to bring about the needed development in Ihiala and  Anambra as a state.

Answering questions from Newsmen, Nze Uchenna Nsofor described Oluaoha xvii as a distinguished character with human face that will bring equity, justice and far play in Ihiala. 

According to him, HRH Igwe Sir Thomas Ikenna Obidiegwu has large heart and has extended his hands to accommodate all the sons and daughters of Ihiala. 

He stated  that  Uzoakwa community is solidly behind his reign and will do everything humanly possible to see to the growth and development of Ihiala. 

He used the opportunity to appeal to those he contested the position of Ezealadike with, to close ranks and join in the development of his community. 

He said that its no Victor no Vanquish and said that his reign will be open to all in Uzokwa. Both the rich and middle class should feel free to come to in any issue that needs my attention. It will be all inclusive  administration, which will give everyone room to suggest or contribute on important issues that affects his community. 

He however thanked God for making it possible to have HRH Igwe Sir Thomas Ikenna Obidiegwu, whom he said is equal to the task in all ramification, and promised to give him the needed support to succeed. 

He commended his community for finding him worthy to serve them in such capacity as Ezealadike of Uzokwa. Chief Uchenna Nsofor assured them of his commitment in development of Uzoakwa. 

However it could be recalled the tussle over who becomes the Ezealadike of Uzoakwa lasted for about three years. Following the presentation of Chief Nsofor as Ezealadike of Uzoakwa, the issue has finally laid to rest.
