In a bid to strengthen security measures and develop strategies to address security challenges, the Anambra State Police Command yesterday hosted the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Mrs. Chioma Irene Amuzie, and the Head of Federal Establishments in Anambra State, Mr. Chijoke Okechukwu. The meeting, which took place at the police command headquarters in Awka, was led by Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu. The police boss emphasized the need for greater cooperation between the police and the polytechnic management to enhance security measures. CP Orutugu referenced a recent incident where armed criminals shot and wounded four people, including a lady, and abducted two others near the polytechnic. He expressed regret over the incident and assured the visitors that the police are working tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrators.
