Governor Emeka Ihedioha CON, has approved the appointment of Dr. Chibuzor Iwuagwu as the Head of Service for the State Civil Service, this was made known in a press release signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Chibuike Onyeukwu. Dr. Iwuagwu replaces Barr. Alma Eluwa who has successfully completed her service and retired. The governor thanked Barr. Eluwa for her industry and patriotism, expressing hope that she will be recommended as the need arises for more tasks at the state and federal level. Dr Chibuzo Carmelius Iwuagwu, was appointed permanent secretary in 2013, he holds a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Nigeria. He also holds M. In their bid to avert death in Marine Modern market, Onitsha, Anambra state, sequel to the dilapidated state of some portions of marine road in the market, the traders, have commenced rehabilitation of the said portions. The chairman of the market, Chief Uzomili Onyeabo made this disclosure to newsmen in Onitsha,recalling how traders and their customers had on several ocassions escaped death by the whiskers because of the bad portions of the road. He said, "each time a vehicle passes through this marine road, on getting to the bad portion it will almost fall and that has been disturbing us. OPERATIVES of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Imo State have arrested a notorious kidnap suspect at Umuezu Ndegwu in Owerri West Council Area of the state. The suspect, Chima Okorie Uzoemenna was arrested in connection with the kidnap of an entertainer, one Izuchukwu Christopher Obiakor, in July 2018. The suspect and his gang members allegedly made away with the victim’s ash-coloured Toyota Highlander SUV after collecting ransom. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikeokwu Orlando in a statement on Monday said the suspect sustained severe head injuries during the operation which led to his arrest and was subsequently given treatment in a clinic. The first of these was that of a blogger who was arrested, arraigned and subsequently remanded in prison in connection to a publication relating to a cleric. Since then there have been more of such incidents, including journalists of mainstream media outlets. Understandably, these arrests have attracted scrutiny from the public.
