2023 election: Peter Obi assured of 1.8M Votes in Anambra - Arch Mike Nwafor

Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Mr. Peter Obi, has been assured of 1.8M votes in Anambra in the Saturday Polls.   Arch Mike Nwafor gave the indication on Thursday, February 23, during a solidarity march organized in Ifitedunu community in Dunukofia local government area of Anambra state for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Datti Ahmed.   He said that " we are 100% sure of raking in 1.8M votes only in Anambra, the vision is clear and Nigerians are not joking with this opportunity." The police in conjunction with the military in Anambra state today in the fight against terror killed three gunmen and also arrested 2 suspects. In a press release made available to this newspaper from the PPRO Anambra state police command DSP Ikenga Toochukwu read thus "Today 20/02/2023 at about 02:20 am,  gunmen suspected to be IPOB/ESN attacked Awada Police Station in Idemilli North LGA of Anambra State using Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and automatic firearms."   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied raiding the home of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate Sen. Bola Tinubu. EFCC’s Spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said the claim of raiding the home of the former governor of Lagos State by the commission was not true. “The attention of the EFCC has been drawn to a report circulating in the social media, claiming that operatives of the Commission raided the home of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, standard-bearer of APC, in the forthcoming presidential election and recovered a humongous sum of N400 billion. “The Commission wishes to state that no such operation was carried out by the EFCC. “The public is enjoined to disregard the report as fake news,” he said.

Police Demoblize 5 Hoodlums, foil attack on Police Facility in Anambra

The police in Anambra state in conjunction with a combined team of sister agencies have foiled an attempted attack on the Police Divisional Headquarters, at Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Oyi LGA, popularly known as 33 police station.  In a release made available by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ikenga Toochukwu to newsmen in Awka today, confirmed the incident, the state reads thus "The combined security team, made up of the Police and the military, today  19/2/2023 by 5:58 am, neutralized a gang of five armed men, recoverd two Ak47 rifles, one Toyota Sienna vehicle with Reg No Abuja ABC 848 EQ, charms and other incriminating items, in a response to a distress call on an attack at 3 3 Police Divisional Headquarters, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Oyi LGA." POLICE REINFORCE SECURITY IN IDEMILI NORTH AREA, AFTER ATTACK ON OGIDI AREA COMMAND

The Anambra State Police Command has reinforced security in the Idemili North area of the State, following the attack on the Ogidi area command in the early hours of today 18/2/2023, where three police operatives were killed by gunmen . The hoodlums who it was gathered started shooting sporadically on approaching the area command and threw IEDs and petrol bombs, gained entrance before gunning down the slain police operatives. Unfortunately, the buildings in the police facility were affected.  However, the command observed with dismay the loss of life and valuables as a result of the attack.
