Ogbogwu Election: Youths Gives Anambra State Government 14 days to conduct Election in the market.


Aggrieved youths trading in Ogbo Ogwu International Market has given the state government 14 days to conduct in the market to avoid the ugly incident it may invite to the peaceful atmosphere in the state. 


The youths who were visibly not happy with the development, said that those that does not want the election to hold in the market are the ones misinforming Goverment of the true state of things in the market. 


Speaking to Newsmen, Mr Ikeabata a member of the caretaker executive lamented the fact that those that are behind the disruption of the election are those that are not popular in the market. He called on the state government to urgently conduct Election for the market in the next 14 days to avoid the break down of law and order in the market. 


He went further to stress that why they don't want Election to hold is for then to go ahead and be extorting some traders in the market, which the present leadership of the market under Chief Donatus Ajama is not in support of. 


Speaking with Chief Donatus Ajama, the present Chairman of the market on how he views the whole senario taking place in the market. He said that the traders in the market has called for an election which he is ready to conduct for them if given the mandate and will also vie for the position which their constitution allows for. 


He called on Chief Willie Obiano to come to their aid as well he youths in the market have been agitating for this election, but he has been using wisdom to clam the situation down. 


Speaking with Ichie Bonaventure Onyia who is the Cordinator and line Chairman and secretary of the whole market, he denied any allegations of embezzlement of funds by the current chairman or any protest in the market, he said " if there was any protest in Ogbo Ogwu International Market, I will be the first person to know. I am not aware of any. What we want is for an election to be conducted for us"  He further stated that they started hearing all these allegations immediately a date was set an election in the market. He therefore called on Goverment to wield into the matter to forestall any breakdown of law and order in the market.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to  The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation.   Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA.   2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body.
