PDP Leadership Tussle: Group pleads with aggrieved party Factions

... Task southern youths against election violence.

Kenechukwu Onyekwuluje Awka.

Immediate past state youth leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Comrade Magnus Eziokwu, who is now the leader of the PDP 1st Progressives NIGERIA YOUTH ambassador for positive change speaking through a press release in Awka has urged party faithful of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the south to shun electoral violence. He reminded them of the fight that has engulfed the party since the emergence of their presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, which he said he believes will be sorted out in due cause.

He said in the release that its no longer news about the insistence of the Governor of Rivers state, Mr. Nyesom Wike, that the National Chairman of our party, Sen. Iyochia Ayu, should resign following the party's arrangements between the North and the South consequent upon these developments, it has become instructive that the youth wing of the PDP under the umbrella of PDP FIRST, make the following resolutions shortly after an extensive meeting  in Awka, Anambra state.

"That the body is appealing to the Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, who undoubtedly remains a major leader and pillar of the PDP in Nigeria, to  consider the majority of Nigerians yearning for a change of administration in 2023 and willing to see the party, to salvage the nation."

"That this body, having understudied the constitution of their party, wishes to assert that it would be a constitutional crisis to force the National Chairman of the party, Iyochira Ayu, to vacate his seat."

He also went on to stress that Governor Nyesom Wike and other respected elders of the party, who have reportedly withdrawn from Atiku Abubakar's Presidential campaign council (PCC), should as a matter of urgency reconsider their position and prioritize their interest with the PDP.

He howy insisted that their interest as Democrats would be to ensure that the party and it candidate's get victory in the upcoming election, after which they can return to the issue of internal equity.

Continuing the Comrade Magnus Eziokwu said that the continuous overheating of the polity in the party would be counterproductive for their party as they work to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

"We would like to add that politicians in the South East who intend to use youths to rig elections must abandon such plans, as they would be detrimental to the principles of our fledgling democracy."

He therefore urged party members in the South and across Nigeria to collect their PVCs and support Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa not only at the national level, but also do same with other elective positions both at the state and national level. The leader also called on the people of Anambra Central to come all out enmass to support SENATOR UCHE EKWUNIFE for Anambra Central, stating that the reward for good work is more work, he concluded.
